BATAVIA, OH – June 9, 2017 – A band of the nation’s elite dirt late model teams will converge on Magnolia Motor Speedway, in Columbus, MS, for the annual Country Pleasin’ “Clash at the Mag.” This blockbuster event, held June 15-17th, will see the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, along with a talented group of local and regional standouts attempt to tame the “black ice” in pursuit of a $20,000 top prize.

The activities will get underway on Thursday, June 15th, with an open practice for all divisions. The action on Friday, June 16th includes Miller Welders Time Trial and Heat Races for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In addition, the Street Stocks, Crate Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, and Factory Stocks will also be in competition on Friday night. On Saturday, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage, featuring B-Mains and the 100-lap, “Clash at the Mag” main event. The Street Stocks, Crate Late Models, Late Model Sportsman and Factory Stocks will cap off the weekend action.

In 2016, Darrell Lanigan came from his third-row starting spot to claim his first victory of the season. In his first full season running in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for Clint Bowyer Racing, Lanigan moved into second on lap 34, overtaking Jared Landers. He then tracked down Jimmy Owens, in heavy lap traffic, using the inside lane of the track while Owens stayed up against the wall. Owens finished second, followed by: Brandon Sheppard, Scott Bloomquist, and Jared Landers.

Magnolia Motor Speedway is located 5 miles west of Columbus on US 82. The 3/8-mile oval has provided some of the most thrilling events in Series history. For tickets or more information, visit www.magnoliadirt.com.
