233INDIANA, PA –December 14, 2016- Hailing from Sheffield, Mass., the schedule Andy Bachetti chooses to follow with his black and bright green No. 4 Modified is a bit unorthodox.

But it was also profitable: to the tune of $27,000-plus in point fund cash.

Bolting on American Racer tires, Bachetti elected to race weekly at I-88 Speedway in Afton, N.Y., on Friday nights – a member of the lucrative American Racer Cup program – and chase points on the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP Halmar International North Region.

In the STSS North Region, Bachetti earned his second championship in three years. He will receive $12,000 in cash plus product awards this Friday (Dec. 16) at the series Awards Banquet in Bethlehem, Pa.

045At I-88, Bachetti took the track championship and the $4,000 that accompanied it from outgoing promoters Jamie and Denise Page.

With his outstanding eight-win effort at I-88 and the speedway’s robust big-block/small-block Modified car count, Bachetti was able to earn the overall American Racer Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuels/Insinger Performance title, worth $10,000 from American Racer and regional distributor Lias Tire of Indiana, Pa.

He also received $1,000 as the American Racer Cup North Region champion and five free tires at year-end, not to mention three free tires received during the season.

Bachetti’s $27,000-plus was achieved by competing in just 16 I-88 Friday events and nine STSS events for a total of 25 races! This is just point fund money, not earnings from individual races during the season!

“It’s a great deal, to be able to bring home what we have, running, what, 25 races total,” Bachetti said. “I’ve got to thank American Racer and the Short Track Super Series for putting up this kind of money.”

The American Racer Cup is preparing for the 2017 season under new management of BD Motorsports Media LLC. Follow along with the latest news on Facebook (American Racer Cup) and Twitter @racer_cup. A complete overhaul of the website will be completed during the holiday season.
