Mall Show, Practice Day, Pre-View 46th Season Opener

FORESTVILLE, PA. -March 5, 2017- The moment has arrived that race fans have been
waiting for all off season.
The calendar say March and that signifies the opening of Big Diamond
Speedway in Forestville.
The unofficial start to the season begins Monday, March 13 with the mall
show which will now be held at the Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville.
The week-long show will conclude on Fri., March 17 and on that night,
there will be driver interviews along with a tire changing contest from 6-9 p.m. Big Diamond Speedway apparel, pit licenses and season passes
will be available that nigh.An open practice for any car with a roll cage will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. Following the practice there will be an Enduro Dash 50.
The 46th season opener will be held on Friday night March 31, as the
Steel & Metal Service Center 358 modifieds compete in a 30-lap feature
paying $4,000 to win. A rain date of April 7 has been set aside for
opening night. It is also the first points race of the season.
Also on opening night, The U.S.S. Achey sportsman will race for $1,000
in a 20-lap feature while the Savage 61 roadrunners and the No Sweet
Service Group street stocks round out the four-division card.
The month of April will see the return of a must-see, early-season
modified event with the running of the 40 lap, Money in the Mountain big
block/small block challenge which pays $6,000 to win and $400 to take
the green.
The winner of the Money in the Mountain race earns a guaranteed starting spot, a $500 value, for the Tues., June 6, Short Track Super Series
event at the track. The race carries a rain date of April 14.
Also in April, the United Racing Club kicks off its season by going wingless for the first time ever on Friday, April 28, on Steel & Metal
Service Night, the new sponsor of the 358 modified division this year.
