The World Finals – Why This Needs To Be On Any Race Fans Bucket List

Every race fan has a bucket list of races they want to attend in their lifetime. I constantly add to mine as the years progress, but there is one race if I had to make sure I get to each and every year, it’s The World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

With the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars, the World of Outlaw Late Model Series, and the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series, it truly is the only place where you will find the three “premier” dirt track divisions on one race track, on the same night anywhere during the season. It is also where these three series crown their champions each and every year. Last year’s event topped out at over 175 race cars across the three divisions.

Part of the allure to the World Finals is the big event atmosphere that is created while you are down there. From the sold out crowd featuring fans from all 50 states, to the pyrotechnics, to the vendors behind the grandstand, to each driver having their own T-Shirt trailer, just imagine a NASCAR Sprint Cup race with Sprint Cars, Late Models and Big Block Modifieds. And the 4-by-4-by-4-wide salute to the fans parade lap is probably one of, if not the highlight of my season. It truly is a sight to see as 24 World of Outlaw Sprint Cars, 24 World of Outlaw Late Models and 24 Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds are on the same race track at the same time. I mean, where else are you going to go and be able to see guys like Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Scott Bloomquist, Darrell Lanigan, Brett Hearn, and Matt Sheppard all on the same race track at once? The answer is nowhere.

Another perk of the World of Outlaw World Finals is the facility that its held at. Out of the 50+ race tracks I’ve traveled to The Dirt Track at Charlotte is by far the nicest. And any time you go back to your local race track you will realize this. Besides seating that holds up to 14,000 people(that usually sells out each year), it’s the cleanest, most state of the art facility and surface that you will find anywhere.

If you’re looking for a race to get to the weekend of November 6-7-8, be sure to check out the World of Outlaws World Finals in Charlotte, NC. For more information check out www.worldofoutlawsworldfinals.com or on twitter @World_Finals. And remember that all dirt roads lead to Charlotte.
