NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Schedule Announced
First Combined Schedule In Several Years

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – December 7, 2016– NASCAR has released the 2017 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule. It was announced back in October that the NASCAR Whelen Modified and Southern Modifieds tour would be merging into one.
The 2017 season will kick off a 19 race schedule at Myrtle Beach Speedway in Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday March 18th.
The second stop for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be the 43rd annual Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Sunday April 2nd and then they will finish off the month with the first of three appearances at Stafford Motor Speedway on April 30th.
On Saturday May 13th, the track is to be determined as it will be a southern track.
In June, there will be two races on the calendar with the second appearance of the year at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday night June 14th and the first of two trips to Riverhead Raceway on Saturday June 24th.
The tour will then head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the All-Star race non points event on Friday July 14th with the points race being held on Saturday July 15th as part of the NASCAR Monster Series weekend at the Magic Mile. They will cap off the month of July with an appearance to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday July 22nd. The tour visited the Speedbowl in May.
It will be a busy stretch in the final 10 out of 11 weeks as the tour will be racing every week during the month. They will kick off with a Friday night race and their second appearance of the year at Stafford Motor Speedway on August 4th. The 28th annual Bud “King Of Beers’ 150 will return to Thompson Speedway for the tours third appearance of the season on Wednesday night August 9th.
The tour will visit the World’s Fastest Half Mile Bristol Motor Speedway on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as they will have a doubleheader with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Wednesday night August 16th.
The tour will end the busy stretch of August with an appearance to The Cement Palace at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday night August 26th.
The tour will make a return to the Steel Palace at Oswego Speedway on Saturday September 2nd followed by a trip to Riverhead Raceway for their second and final appearance of the season on Saturday September 16th. New Hampshire Motor Speedway will host the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Saturday September 23rd as part of NASCAR Monster Series Chase Weekend.
The season will conclude with three events in 14 days. The Fall Final will be held on Sunday October 1st with a non points event at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday October 5th. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season finale will be held on Sunday October 15th at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park as part of the 55th annual Sunoco World Series Of Racing.
