Susquehanna, PA…Penn Can Speedway welcomed back the “Legends of Penn Can” Friday with another large turn-out of drivers from the past that made history at the three eighths mile oval on Gary’s U-Pull-It Night. Joey Grammes, of Kunkletown, came from the twelveth starting position on the grid to win his second feature of 2014. Ryan Olsommer, from Lake Ariel, continued to be the dominant car in the 602 sportsman claiming another feature win. Butch Green returned to Victory Lane in the street stock division driving the Kinser Hill owned mount. In the factory stocks, Lance Albanese was the winner while Andy Brigham won in the four cylinders. Will Eastman held off Scott Adams to claim another Xcel 600 modified win. In the Vintage car feature Kavin Winton came out on top in the twelve lap exhibition race.

The thirty lap modified feature had Chris Piesecki and Frank Porecca leading the field to the green. With early cautions keeping the field close, Steve Babicek took control. With Babicek out front with Mike Nagel and Brian Malcolm in tow te cars of Joey Grammes and Kevin Hartnett started making their way to the front. Grammes was the first to make his move avaioding some early spins in front of him, he took control with an outside pass of Babicek on lap six. Once out front, cars behind started making their moves to the front in a race that would not see another caution. At the halfway point Grammes lead Babicek, Hartnett, Alan Rudalavave, Mike Nagel, and Ken Titus.

As the race continued, Grammes stayed out front with Hartnett now moving into the second spot. Lap after lap Hartnett moved closer and closer while the race for third, fourth, and fifth was just as intense. Grammes stay strong out in front of a hard charging field and went on to win with Hartnett in second followed by Babicek, Rudalavage, Dan Pompey.

Rookies Alec Genneralli and Todd Titus lead the 602 sportsman field to the flag and battled back and forth for the top spot during the early laps of the twenty lap feature. Racing hard for the top position the two cars came together and spun in turn one slowing the feature and giving the top spot to the third place running car of Ryan Olsommer. Olsommer then battled for the remaining twelve laps with Paul Rooney with Nick Mady, Dusty Barton, and Randy Gates all swapping positions back and forth. Olsommer was able to hold off all challenges and win for another time followed by Rooney, Barton, Mady, and Gates.

The street stock racing at Penn Can week after week has been some of the best racing in the area. The Friday night feature would again hold true with five and sometimes six cars fighting for position and the win. Butch Green jumped to the early lead followed by Ryan Stone and Randy Fox. With Green  out front Stone, Fox, Shane Wolf, and Steve Deinhardt all running tight for position. Lap after lap the cars used every inch of the track trying to get position. Green managed to hold everyone off for his second win of the year. Stone, Fox, Wolf, and Deinhardt rounded out the top five.

In the factory stock feature newcomer Lance Albanese avoided an early caution and took the lead and win his first factory stock event at Penn Can this season. In the four cylinders, Andy Brigham changed his luck and held off a strong field of four cylinders. Brigham held off Dylan Robinson, Frank Kennedy, Don Doster Jr, and Mike Robinson for the win. In the Xcel modifieds, Will Eastman won over Scott Adams, Steve Sherwood, Nick Cinquati, and Kyle Fallis.
