TULSA, Okla. (July 14, 2015) Looking to get back to racing this weekend, the Southern Trailer Works ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Griffith Truck and Equipment takes on the Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas onFriday, July 17 and Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas on Saturday, July 18.
Attempt No. 5 for the Gulf South Region at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park, Mother Nature has kept the racing action to a pair of nights with Blake Hahn topping the field on March 27, followed by Scottie McDonald o May 1. Friday night is the final appearance for the ASCS Gulf South Region at the Beaumont oval. In the same boat as the Golden Triangle Raceway Park, the Battleground Speedway saw Blake Hahn make a perfect weekend with victory on March 28. John Carney II posted his first Gulf South Regional victory on May 2.
Looking at the season standings, Kevin Ramey holds the top spot with a 63 point advantage over Michael McNeil. Grabbing his first regional win of the 2015 season at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway on May 22, Ray Allen Kulhanek has rebounded to third in tour standings after a less than ideal start to the season. Channin Tankersley holds fourth with Tommy Bryant making up the top-five. Scottie McDonald, Jacob Lucas, Zane Lawrence, Larry Howery, and John Pate make up the top-ten.
Friday, July 17 is the annual Race for a Cure Night at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park and will feature Limited Modifieds, Street Stock, IMCA Modifieds, and Jr. Mini Stock in addition to the ASCS Gulf South Region.
