ACCORD, NY – The holiday season is all about getting together with friends and family to celebrate another year. On Saturday, November 30, Accord Speedway offers one final opportunity for everyone to come together with their racing family at the ‘Gobbler.’

The ‘Gobbler’ is the final outdoor racing event in the Northeast for the 2019 season. Once again, the Accord Speedway continues the tradition of hosting the event as it has attempted to do the past six seasons.

The main course of this annual post-Thanksgiving feast is the mighty big/small block Modifieds which pays $5,000 to the winner of the 50-lap finale. All drivers qualifying for the feature will get a minimum of $300. The last time the ‘Gobbler’ was run back in 2017, it was a battle between two Accord regulars in Andy Bachetti and Mike Ricci. Eventually it was Bachetti coming out on top of the feature.

Anthony Perrego of Middletown, N.Y., won the inaugural ’13 ‘Gobbler’ before picking up his second win in the event back in 2016. Jackie Brown Jr. of Hurley, N.Y., topped the ’14 edition and ‘the Doctor’ Danny Johnson was the ’15 victor.

The side-dishes are plenty at the ‘Gobbler’ as the 602 Sportsman division is ready for a 30-lap feature with $1,500 on the line for their feature. All drivers making the starting grid are guaranteed a minimum of $100 to start.

A 25-lap Street Stock feature is also on the docket as they’ll race looking to take home a nice $500 payday to close out the 2019 racing season. The final race on the day’s agenda is the 50-lap Enduro worth $1,000 (with 50 cars registered). The Enduro will pay the top five in the finishing order.

Santa Claus will be paying a visit to the speedway as well as he’ll be greeting children at the gate with candy canes and ‘Gobbler’ event stickers. Race fans are also encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy as we are holding a toy drive for needy families as well.

Pit gates open at 9 a.m. on November 30 while spectator gates swing open at 10 a.m. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with hot laps beginning promptly at Noon. Racing is slated to take the green at 1 p.m.

Adult general admission is $25 while seniors are just $23. Reserved seating is available $27. Kids (11 & Under) are just $5. If you’d like indoor seating those are available for $35. To reserve your seat call the speedway at (845) 626-1142.

Pit admission for the event is $40.
