JUSTIN PECK SCORES ONE FOR THE ALL STARS WITH KRAMER KLASH WIN

Abbottstown, PA (August 27, 2022) – Justin Peck took his throwback Kramer Williamson helmet up with him for a wing dance to celebrate his Kramer Klash victory on Saturday night, “This is pretty cool man. We got Kurt, Kramer’s son, working on the car and wearing the throw back Kramer helmet tonight was pretty cool. It means a lot to them and it means a lot to me.” Not only was Peck’s win a big one for the All Stars, it was an emotional one for the Williamson family since Kramer’s son, Kurt, works on the car, “This is one of those races that you mark at the beginning of the year on the calendar ‘must win’ and luckily we were able to get it done.”

Peck started on the pole of the 35-lap, $7,300 to win feature and would lead every lap. Despite wiring the field, it was not an easy drive to victory as Peck had Freddie Rahmer hot on his heels most of the race. Rahmer got by Peck for the lead on a late-race restart, but Peck battled back to reclaim the top spot before they crossed the line, “I love coming to Lincoln Speedway. Hats off to the track crew they gave us a bad ass race track. These fans here are some of the best in the country. I love coming to Pennsylvania because all these guys are crazy.”

Justin Peck and Giovanni Scelzi were scheduled to share the front row of Saturday night’s 35-lap Kramer Klash, but Scelzi was penalized two spots for being late to the track. That put the current Lincoln Speedway points leader, Freddie Rahmer, on the front row with Peck. Peck led the field into turn 1 with Rahmer, who is still in search of his first Lincoln Speedway All-Star win, hot on his tail. Zeb Wise was running third and Scelzi was fourth.

Rahmer was running the bottom to stick with Peck when the yellow flag waved on lap 3 when TJ Stutts stopped in turn 4.

Peck led Rahmer, Wise, Scelzi and Danny Dietrich to the cone for the single-file restart. Rahmer went low in turns 1 and 2 to challenge for the lead but Peck held the top spot.

Dietrich got by Scelzi for fourth. Peck entered lapped traffic on lap 8 and quickly found himself in heavy traffic.

Zeb Wise flipped in turn 1 bringing out the red flag on lap 12. Wise had been running third.

The top five for the restart were Peck, Rahmer, Dietrich, Scelzi and Hunter Schuerenberg. Peck had a solid restart. Scelzi and Schuerenberg battled for fourth. Scelzi held off Hunter and went to challenge Dietrich for third.

Tyler Courtney was looking for a spot in the top 5. Once again Peck found himself in leavy lapped traffic allowing Rahmer to close in. Lap 23 saw another caution when Brandon Rahmer slowed in turn 2.

Rahmer stuck with Peck on the restart and pulled a slider in turns 1 and 2 for the lead. Peck took the top spot back at the line with Rahmer looking for another opportunity to pounce. Dietrich entered the picture and the top three raced for the lead. Courtney found his way into the top five on lap 25. Scelzi got by Dietrich for third on lap 28.

Lapped traffic came into play one last time with 5 laps to go, but Peck had put plenty of distance between him and Rahmer.

Peck scored his first Kramer Klash win by 1.555 seconds ahead of Rahmer. Scelzi crossed the line third and Dietrich was fourth. Courtney completed the top five.

Scelzi set quick time over the 39-car car field with a lap time of 13.383 seconds. Heat race wins went to Hunter Schuerenberg, Justin Peck, Danny Dietrich and Zeb Wise.

Next Saturday, September 3, Lincoln Speedway is back in action with Elijah Hawkins Memorial featuring the 410 Sprint Cars racing for $7,000 to win with the PA Speedweek format plus 358 Sprint Cars and Central PA Legends.
