Chevrolet Performance Returns as Sportsman Modified Sponsor at NAPA Super DIRT Week

CONCORD, NC – Sept. 22, 2017 – DIRTcar Racing is pleased to welcome back Chevrolet Performance as sponsor of the NAPA Super DIRT Week Sportsman Modified main event, the Chevrolet Performance 75, on October 8, 2017.

Chevrolet, one of America’s most iconic brands, is a long-time supporter of DIRTcar Racing and Super DIRT Week. For nearly 50 years, Chevrolet has fueled the passion of automotive enthusiasts. Engine blocks, engines, transmissions, Connect & Cruise systems and other Chevrolet Performance parts are designed, engineered, and tested by Chevrolet.

“Chevrolet Performance fuels the passion of automotive enthusiasts all over the world,” said Bill Martens, Special Programs Manager, Chevrolet Performance. “It only makes sense to be a part of Super DIRT Week, which brings our community to one of racing’s biggest stages and helps us directly connect to the people who are constantly pushing our product to the next level.”

A field of nearly 90 cars is expected at the Chevrolet Performance 75.

The Sportsman Modifieds first take to the 5/8th-mile Oswego Speedway on Wednesday, October 4 at 3 p.m. during opening rounds of practice.

They will have a break in the action at the Clay Palace onThursday only to return with a practice session Friday at 1:35 p.m., followed by time trails at 2 p.m., locking the top six into Sunday’s Chevrolet Performance 75.

All cars will have a second chance to lock into the field during Camping World Friday Night Lights in the 15-lap qualifiers.

The Sportsman Modified Last Chance Showdown will be run Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.

The Chevrolet Performance 75 takes the green flag on the final day of NAPA Super DIRT Week, Sunday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m.

NAPA Super DIRT Week returns to Oswego Speedway for its second year. The “Steel Palace” – a 0.625-mile, asphalt oval – will be transformed into the “Clay Palace” by nearly 600 truckloads of clay. The week will kick off with early parking for campers on Sunday, Oct. 1. Early Bird tech inspection for all classes and competitors starts on Tuesday, Oct. 3. On-track activities will begin shortly after the procession of cars through the streets of Oswego on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at roughly 12 p.m.
