IMG_4929%20(800x533)CENTER LISLE, NY – July 25, 2016- Before a large crowd on Barrett Paving Materials Night, Danny Creeden continued his dominance of Thunder Mountain Speedway.

Creeden, the Wurtsboro, N.Y., driver, carved through the field in the 30-lap big-block/small-block Modified headliner, winning for the fifth time this season and third consecutive week at the three-eighths-mile clay oval located just outside of Whitney Point, N.Y.

A reminder that Thunder Mountain Speedway will not be in action this coming Saturday, July 30, in deference to the Broome County Fair.

Creeden, driving a Hig Fab Chassis, Bedell-powered No. 16X, worked lapped traffic to perfection en route to a $1,200 payday.

Bob Hamm Jr., a feature winner on the Mountain earlier this season, finished second, followed by Alan Barker in another stout effort, Ryan Jordan (using a borrowed engine) and Randy Brokaw in his first top-five of the season.

Snapping the five-race winning streak of his son, Brian, in Open Sportsman competition, former track champion Eddie White of Candor, N.Y., reached Victory Lane for the first time this season, pocketing $700 in the 20-lap event.

Yet again, veteran Kevin Jordan settled for a runner-up finish, followed by Kevin’s brother, Chris, Micro-Sprint graduate Larry Mekic and Chance Spoonhower.

Susquehanna, Pa., native Mike Nagel Jr. won for the first time this season in the Crate 602 Sportsman division. Nagel received $500 for his efforts. Lanson Albanese finished second, his best finishing since switching to Thunder Mountain for Saturday racing, with Brian Mady, Pat Jordan and Allen James completing the front five.

Dan Allen of Berkshire, N.Y., returned to prominence in the Rookie Sportsman ranks, capturing the 15-lap feature over Ryan Alsdorf and pavement star Jimmy Zacharias, who purchased a dirt car during the week.

IMG_3877 (800x533)Jonathan Carpenter of New Milford, Pa., continued his dominance of the area’s Street Stock division with another $500 win to his credit in the 20-lap feature driving the Boynton Motorsports ride.

Shane Wolf Jr., Mike Wilbur, Trevor Dudley and Matt Spencer finished second through fifth, respectively.

Oneonta, N.Y.’s Will Eastman guided the John Burnside No. 126 to his second straight 20-lap XCel 600 Modified conquest, besting Sportsman racer Chris Jordan, Bailey Boyd, Kamdin Maby and Rich Green.

The Empire Lightning Sprint 1000cc Mini-Sprints visited for a 20-lap feature and Jon Moore was the winner over Clint Roehrs, Josh Chess, Jerry Sehn and Don Bellen.

Rich Gardiner went back-to-back in FWD Four Cylinder action, taking the 15-lap feature over a strong 16-car field. Nick Kennedy returned to the Mountain and finished second, with Gabe Forward, Frankie Kennedy and Jimmy Fudd in tow.

As previously mentioned, there will be NO RACING at Thunder Mountain Saturday, July 30. Racing resumes on August 6 with a complete program of Modifieds, Open Sportsman, Crate 602 Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks, FWD Four Cylinders and a “tour race” for XCel 600 Modifieds.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6:20 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $12. Seniors (ages 65 and over) and Students (ages 10-17) pay $10. Kids 9 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30, with no license required.
