Weather Cancels Thunder Mountain Saturday Program, Sunday ‘Lightning on the Mountain’ Now Takes Place Monday, June 29; Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek Modifieds Race For $5,000 Top Prize!

CENTER LISLE, NY – Weather conditions have forced the cancelation of Saturday’s racing program and postponement of Sunday’s event at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
Due to heavy rain, no racing will take place at the Center Lisle, N.Y., three-eighths-mile clay oval on Saturday or Sunday.
However, the speedway WILL BE IN ACTION Monday, June 29.
Sunday’s Olum’s ‘Lightning on the Mountain’ presented by VP Racing Fuels and Town Mechanical will now take place on Monday. The Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek big-block/small-block Modifieds will race 50 laps for $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green flag. This is the fourth leg of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear North Region championship battle.
Open vs. Crate 602 Sportsman will join the Modifieds in a $1,000-to-win event, 25 laps in distance. Crate bonuses of $150, $100 and $75 will be paid to the top-three finishers using crate engine power.
Street Stocks will run 20 laps for an increased $700 to win thanks to Zimmer Logging and Four Cylinders – open to FWD Four Cylinders and Empire Sport Trucks – will run a feature-only 15-lap event.
On Monday, gates will open at 3 p.m. Hot laps take place at 6 p.m. and racing gets underway at 7 p.m.
Adult grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65 and over) and Students (ages 10-17) pay $18. Kids 9 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $35, with no license required.
The SpeedSTRs and XCel 600 Modifieds, originally scheduled for Sunday’s show, will not run on Monday due to the extended travel required on a week night.
