VERNON, NY – Nearly 50 cars entered the pit area this past Sunday, April 7, to shake their cars down for the upcoming season. Despite the curveball Mother Nature threw at the speedway staff this past week with the heavy snowfall, the track was in extremely good shape with the cars taking full advantage of the test session.

Mike Trautschold was the quickest of the DIRT legal DirtTrackDigest.com Modifieds that hit the track surface with Alan Barker the fastest overall with his sail panel clad Modified. Not surprisingly, defending Broedel Fuel Group Sportsman track champion Matt Janczuk was the fastest of the large field of Sportsman on hand. Ed Lukas set the quick pace in the Rookie Sportsman while Nick Stone was fast in the Ted’s Body Shop Pro Stocks. Paulie Colagiovanni was the lone 360 Sprint on hand and laid down some quick times before mechanical problems ended his night after a handful of green flag laps.

Next up is the Spring Break Shootout this Sunday April 14, featuring a rare appearance of the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds for $2,500 to win plus opening point nights for the DirtTrackDigest.com 358-Modifeds for the $1,500 to win, Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman, and Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks.
Gates open at 3:30pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 6pm for the Spring Break Shootout. Adult general admission for the opener is set at $20 with seniors/military members/students 17-18 just $18 while kids 16 and under are free.
If you can’t make it to the track on a Sunday night you can catch all the action on DirtTrackDigest.tv from each event throughout the 2019 racing season.
