Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remembered 100 to Kick-Start Weedsport Speedway on Monday, May 27

WEEDSPORT, NY (May 20, 2019) – Weedsport Speedway’s 2019 racing season will now officially open on Monday, May 27 with the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds and the $7,500 to win Heroes Remembered 100.

Wet weather early this season has canceled two Super DIRTcar Series events as well as Weedsport’s opening Empire State Challenge, making Monday’s Memorial Day special an even bigger date on the calendar with race fans, drivers and teams thirsty for action.

“It’s been a tough spring for everyone,” said Weedsport Speedway Promoter, Jimmy Phelps. “But we’re looking forward to turning it around on Memorial Day with one of the biggest events of the season. The Big Blocks, Sportsman and CRSA Sprints are sure to provide our fans with a much-needed boost as we honor our service men and women on a special day.”

The cars and stars of the Super DIRTcar Series are sure to provide a flurry of excitement with top series contenders Matt Sheppard, Mat Williamson, Billy Dunn, Justin Haers, Pat Ward, Larry Wight, Jimmy Phelps, Danny Johnson, Billy Decker, Erick Rudolph, Brett Hearn, Tim Fuller, Mike Mahaney and more all expected.

The local flavor of Dave Marcuccilli, Chris Hile, Andrew Ferguson and the return of ‘Mad Max’ McLaughlin will add even more intrigue to the night’s action.

Monday’s event will also mark the first of five Stirling Lubricants/ Champion Racing Oil Modified Series events, offering up more than $36,000 in winner’s cash including a $2,000 championship bonus.

Pit gates will open on Monday at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates swinging open at 4 p.m. Racing action is slated to take place at 6 p.m.

Reserved seating is set at $32 with FREE Fan Pit Pass Upgrades available through May 23.

General admission seating for adults is $28, with kids 11-17 $12. Kids 10 and under are FREE.

DIRTcar Member pit admission is $32, non-member pit admission is $36.

Reserved camping is available for $30 with general camping marked at $24. Camping in The Great Outdoors RV Campgrounds now includes a host of amenities including all-new shower and restroom facilities.
