MILLSBORO, DE – Memorial Day weekend is often referenced as the unofficial kickoff to summer.

This year, as the country reflects on those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco kicks into overdrive with a pair of events and all four series in competition.

For the first time since 2016, the STSS returns to New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway on Thursday, May 23 with the ‘Dirty Jersey 6’ event. The STSS Velocita-USA South Region big-block/small-block Modifieds presented by Sunglass Central and Design for Vision battle 40 laps for a healthy $6,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green in Race No. 4 of the South Region.

360 Sprint Cars join the Modifieds in the United Racing Club (URC) ‘Turnpike 25’ with $2,000 on the line.

Also on the card: STSS Crate 602 Sportsman competing in South Region Event No. 3, a 20-lap program with $1,500 going to the victor.

On Sunday night (May 26), it’s time for the STSS to climb Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, N.Y., for the ‘Lightning on the Mountain’ event, Race No. 2 of the Halmar International North Region for STSS Modifieds.

More than $25,000 is on the line for the 50-lap event at the Spoonhower family’s three-eighths-mile oval: $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green flag.

The six-race STSS Crate 602 Sportsman North Region gets the green flag with a 25-lap event offering a $1,500 top prize. Completing the holiday tripleheader is the Chad Sindoni Memorial for Street Stocks competing in a 25-lap, $1,000 to win affair.
