ON-TRACK PARTY HIGHLIGHTS WALL STADIUM STOCK CAR RACING SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ A pre-race “On-Track Party” where fans are invited to walk onto the speedway, check out the race cars and pose for photos with and collect autographs from drivers, “Carnival Night” festivities in the grandstand midway, seven feature events and tight point races in all divisions are in store for those who attend Wall Stadium Speedway’s “Fan Appreciation Night” events this Saturday (Sept. 19). Due to the “On-Track Party,” which runs from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., the evening will see grandstand seating opening one hour earlier than usual at 4:00 p.m. with qualifying beginning at 6:00 p.m. and main event racing will follow. Fans who arrive between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. will receive a $2 admission discount.

The Downs Ford Modified stock cars will compete in a 40-lap main event while the Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models are set for a 25-lapper. The Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars, the O’Shea’s Auto Repairs Factory Stocks, the Green Monster Insulation 4 Cylinder Stocks and the Snap-on Sportsman cars will all be racing in “Triple Crown” main events with 35-laps being the distance for each. The ATQMRA Three Quarter Midgets will also be in action racing on the inner oval.

In the Modified ranks Jackson’s Steven Reed is at the top of the point rankings as he seeks his first ever crown. Still, Reed’s brother in law, Freehold’s Chas Okerson, Howell’s Eric Mauriello and Brick’s Ron Frees are also within striking distance.

Andrew Krause of Holmdel, defending champion Kevin Davison and Chris Lane, both of Howell, and Manchester’s Shanon Mongeau are at the top of the Sportsman chase.  Brick’s Joe Mongeau and Ronnie Mullen, Union’s Joey Helberg and Manchester’s Scott Riggleman lead Factory Stock points going into the night’s action.

The Legend Cars find defending champ Brian Spencer of Edison and Howell’s Robert French locked in a battle for the title. In the 4 Cylinder Stocks Ronnie Mullen and Jason Lane, both of Brick, and Wall’s TJ Graves are the top point drivers and Anthony Crimaldi of Port Monmouth leads the Limited Late Model points with former champs Howie Conk of Jackson and Brian Doyle of Ronkonkoma, N.Y. close behind.

Saturday will also be special as Wall Stadium joins Legend Cars driver Mitchell Dowd in a shoe drive to support the “In Ian’s Boots” charity. Both fans and competitors are asked to clean out their shoe rooms and closets of lightly worn or new shoes and boots of any kind including men’s, women’s and children’s. Sports shoes are also accepted. Shoes and boots will be collected in the pit area and the grandstand midway. More information on the charity and the distribution of these boots and shoes to the needy is available at iniansboots.org.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 2:30 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 4:00 p.m. The “On-Track Party” starts at 4:30 p.m. while qualifying starts at 6:00 p.m. with main events to follow.

The 2015 championship season will then conclude on Saturday, September 26, when all divisions race for double championship points. In the event of rain on September 26 only an October 3 rain date will be put into effect. Once the Saturday night season has concluded the “Spooky Spectacular” is set for Saturday October 24 and the annual “Turkey Derby” will be presented on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
