New Egypt Speedway completed its 19th Season as a dirt track in 2016 and is currently gearing up for its 20th Anniversary. I went back through and crunched some numbers from things that made the season what it was in 2016. Some are surprising, some not so much.

10,000: The amount of dollars that New Egypt Speedway has paid out out to its 358 Modified Champion for all 19 years that it has been a dirt track.

425: The number of laps of competed during the 2016 New Egypt Speedway Modified season.

300: The amount of money New Egypt Speedway pays to take the green in a 358 Modified feature on Saturday night.

156: The amount of drivers that tallied points throughout the 2016 season in the five weekly New Egypt Speedway divisions, 31 358 Modifieds, 55 Open Sportsman, 37 Crate Modifieds, 20 Street Stocks and 19 Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars.

aneg_6051b48: Drivers had Perfect Attendance and showed up for every race across the five weekly New Egypt Speedway divisions.

41: Number of different feature event winners across every class that raced at New Egypt in 2016.

15: The highest number of cars that competed in a Northeast Wingless Sprint Car event, six more then 2015, and it happened more than once. The class will continue to grow into 2017.

12: Competitors that won more than one race at New Egypt Speedway during 2016.

10: Yes, ten out of 32 scheduled events were lost to Mother Nature.

9: First time winners in 2016. (Ryan Simmons, Alan Bleacher, TJ Lilly, Billy Osmun III, John Criscione, Kyle Kania, John Meyer, Samantha Lieberman, and Chad Boespflug)

7.40: David VanHorn’s average finish in weekly competition at New Egypt in 2016.

5: Doug Ostwald’s best career New Egypt Speedway modified finish what happened back on July 23rd.

4: The number of World of Outlaw Sprint Car races that Daryn Pittman has won in a row at New Egypt Speedway.

3: Dominick Buffalino’s best career Modified points finish at New Egypt Speedway.

1: The amount of points that separated Billy Pauch Jr. and Ryan Godown in the season long 358 Modified point standings.
