Practice is Over; 54th Season of Stock Car Racing Action Ready to go On Saturday, April 2nd

BECHTELSVILLE, PA- March 31, 2016- With the free-to-the-public practice season completed last Saturday with an impressive array of racers on hand, fans and competitors are ready for some serious stock car racing action at Grandview Speedway. The 54th consecutive season of stock car racing is set to start this Saturday, April 2nd at 7 p.m.
The season opening tripleheader will feature the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars with a series of qualifying events leading up to the exciting feature events in each division.
Again this year fans will have the opportunity to meet drivers during the Low Down And Dirty radio sponsored Meet and Greet at the front gate as the ticket windows open at 5 p.m. This week NASCAR 358 Modified racer Ryan Watt, Sportsman talent Mike Stringer and Late Model standout Shawn Horning will be displaying their race cars and greeting fans.
A stellar field of Modified stock car talents is expected with defending champion Craig VonDohren leading the way. He will have plenty of competition for the opening night Modified win with Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Doug Manmiller, Meme DeSantis, Tim Buckwalter and a host of others expected to take part.
There will be no shortage of excitement with the BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Chuck Schutz will be seeking to start off the season with a win as he defends his Late Model title. In the Sportsman division, with quite a number of newcomers planning to participate, a new champion will be crowned as Brett Kressley, the 2015 champion, has moved on to the 358 Modifieds.
Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing action getting the green at 7 p.m. Racers are asked to be signed in at the back gate by 5:30 p.m.
Adult admission for all regular Saturday night events is $15 while youngsters 11 and under are admitted free.
Coming up on Saturday, April 9th is the first special event of the season with a 35-lap main event for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds being the attraction. The winner of this race will walk off with more than $3500 for his winning efforts. The BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars will also be part of the tripleheader. Adult admission will be $20 while youngsters 5 through 11 will pay $5 and those under 5 will be admitted free.
Season passes remain available for $350 and cover all the Saturday night events from opening night through the September Freedom 76 Classic.
