FIVE FEATURES ON TAP AT NES; ROUND TWO OF HIGH GEAR CRATE SELECT SERIES
Once again, the New Egypt Speedway will present another huge program featuring the Vahlco Wheels Modifieds, the Hamilton Auto Clinic/Racersguide Crates, the Larry’s Hot Rods and Harleys NEWS Sprints, the Wash Wagon 4-Cylinders, and the Rookies. For the Sprint car contingent, it will be an extra special show as they will compete in two twenty lap feature events.
The NEWS division is coming off their biggest field of the season as seventeen cars signed into the pit area. A few more cars are just about ready to roll which could bring the field to twenty.
In addition, it will be the second race in the nine race High Gear Towing Crate Select Series. Feature winner Joe Toth is the current points leader with David Burns second and Kevin Borden third. Several drivers who missed round one have already entered for the second event. If this event falls victim to rain, June 18th will serve as the next Series event.
Of major importance is a schedule change for the June 18th Father’s Day Program. Originally it was scheduled to be an Open Wheel Mania show featuring the URC Sprint cars, the ARDC midgets, and the MASS 305 Sprinters. It will now be a support division show featuring the Hamilton Auto Clinic/Racersguide Crates, the Larry’s Hot Rods and Harleys NEWS Sprints, the Freedom Firearms Street Stock, the Wash Wagon 4 Cylinders, and the Rookies.
The Modifieds will have the night off as they prepare for The Garden State Gunfight 5 Presented by Creston Hydraulics show on Tuesday June 21st. A solid field of modifieds will be on hand gunning for the big prize money up for grabs and heading the group will be current points leader Brandon Grosso. Other regulars expected to be on hand are former track champions, Frank Cozze, Rick Laubach, and Danny Bouc in addition to Cale Ross, Louden Reimert and Jack Butler just to name a few. The outside invasion is expected to be headed by Dom Buffalino, Richie Pratt, and former track champions Ryan Godown, and Mike Gular, plus a host of others.
Joining the modifieds for this program will be the Crates and the Eastern 600 Sprint Cars. This show is scheduled to get the green at 7PM.
Another schedule change will be for our July 2nd program. Originally it was going to be the Annual Firecracker 40 for the modifieds. The Crates, Street Stocks, and Modifieds Match Races were also on the schedule. It will now feature the Vahlco Wheels Modifieds in a thirty lapper, the Larry’s Hot Rods and Harleys NEWS Sprints, and a huge Fireworks Display. This show will be free to the public, so come out and enjoy a great night of racing and pyrotechnics.
Racing continues every Saturday night through October. For further information on the upcoming schedule, please contact the speedway office at 609-758-1900.
