Vintage Race Adds to Appeal of Grandview’s July 30 slate

Bechtelsville Pa.- July 26, 2016- Coming up this Saturday, July 30, at Bechtelsville’s Grandview Speedway is a big four division show of racing action sponsored by the area’s NASCAR radio station WNPV-1440 AM in Lansdale.
The exciting night of NASCAR stock car racing action will feature the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models, Sportsman stock cars along with the popular Blast from the Past Vintage racers. If you were looking for just the right night to head out to Grandview this would be it. Here is a chance to see the Vintage racers competing in cars that will give fans in the stands a chance to see what racing was like some years back. Always a fun night.
And for the kids Henning’s Trains of Lansdale will be giving away sets of Lionel trains to some lucky youngsters.
There will be at least 14 events of excitement, and despite an added division of racing there will be no increase in the price of admission. Adults are admitted for $15 while the youngsters under 12 enter for free.
The track, unlike many other sports events, offers free parking. There is a wide array of food and beverage available at reasonable prices or you can bring your own as long you don’t bring glass bottles. And that is true at all area weekly tracks.
As the season is now well into its second half, just six more nights of Saturday night stock car racing that counts toward the NASCAR and track titles, the racing is becoming more intense. Each spot that a racer can move up in the final top ten standings will result in an increase in point money.
Jeff Strunk is seeking his 11th Modified title and is in a close point battle longtime nemesis Craig VonDohren with Mike Gular close behind the duo. In the Sportsman Jordan Henn has been the leader for a while but he is now getting a strong challenge from Green Lane’s Brian Hirthler. Chuck Schutz, defending BRC Late Model champion, is in front of the standings as he goes after another title.
And the season has been super competitive with more than 20 different feature winners.
Something that has made fans happy all season is the weekly Low Down and Dirty Radio Meet & Greet that gives everyone a chance to meet some drivers and get an up close look at the racing equipment. This is especially good for first timers giving them a chance to learn more about the sport and the participants.
WNPV-1440 AM radio is only one of many businesses that reap the benefits of marketing through NASCAR stock car racing at the one-third-mile, banked clay track. Other sponsors include, during the season, TP Trailers of Limerick. They post bonus money for feature winners in all three divisions during the season as long as the racer carries the TP decals. A.D.Moyer Lumber has an event coming up at the end of August. Bechtelsville Car Wash sponsored a night just a short time back as did Chapman Auto of Horsham. Pioneer Pole Buildings is a big supporter as is Bernheisel Racing. Hatfield Quality Meats, a longtime supporter, sponsored last Saturday’s racing action and their mascot Smylie always proves to be popular. NAPA stores are a big supporter of the special Thunder promotions. And there are many businesses that participate by sponsoring race cars.
Saturday’s sponsor, WNPV-1440AM radio, is a big supporter of racing. They are the area NASCAR station and feature a recap of the Grandview Saturday night racing on Monday mornings. A little extra for youngsters this Saturday is the chance to win sets of Lionel trains courtesy of Henning’s Trains of Lansdale and there will be opportunities to win IndyCar tickets for coming events at Pocono Raceway.

So before the season is over you just may want to make plans to gather up the family and head out to the Grandview Speedway. Saturday, August 6th would be a great time to go with your school age kids because there will be a Geiswite Creations Night with the kids being able to win backpacks and other school items. First 100 school age kids through the front gate get a folder with note pad and a couple of pencils. And when the racing is over fans are invited into the pit area to meet racers, take pictures, and collect autographs.
