Tony Stewart Will Join The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions During the Open Wheel Championships at Atomic Speedway.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – June 5, 2017– Three-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart will visit Atomic Speedway on Aug. 25-26 to compete in the third annual Open Wheel Championships.

The multi-day program begins Aug. 24 with an AMRA Modified and AMRA Sport Modified program. The following day Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will compete for a $5,000 top prize followed by a $10,000-to-win event on Aug. 26.

Stewart, a former Arctic Cat All Star main event winner and the owner of the series, will face-off against some of the nation’s best during Open Wheel Championships weekend including defending Arctic Cat All Star champion Chad Kemenah and former Chili Bowl Midget Nationals champion Rico Abreu.

“We are more than excited to have Tony Stewart join us during the Open Wheel Championships,” Brad McCown stated, promoter of Atomic Speedway. “Tony is a living legend. Our fans will have the opportunity to watch him race head-to-head with some of the best sprint car drivers in the country. This event is slowly working up the ladder as one of the premier events in Ohio. This just made things even bigger.”

 

In addition to a pair of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions programs during Open Wheel Championships weekend, the AMRA Modifieds, AMRA Sport Modifieds, Racesaver 305 Sprint Cars, and the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series non-wing sprint cars will also join the weekend agenda.

“We have a lot in store for the fans,” McCown said. “Our goal is to push this event to its maximum capacity. I think we are on the right track.”
