047MOORESVILLE, N.C. -March 11, 2016 – SPEED SPORT and Weedsport Speedway are teaming together to broadcast three exciting events from the beautifully rebuilt New York dirt racing venue as part of the award-winning Suzuki Presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV.

SPEED SPORT will cover Weedsport Speedway’s three Big-Block Modified events this season beginning on July 24 and continuing with the Super DIRTcar Series Hall of Fame Classic on Aug. 9 and the Super DIRTcar Series event on Sept. 17.

Weedsport Speedway has more than 60 years of history behind it, but in 2013 it was purchased by Al Heinke, who along with his team has turned the facility into a state-of-the-art motorsports complex looking to have its biggest season in 2016.

“We have been building toward televised events at Weedsport and with all of our team’s efforts we believe we’re ready,” Heinke said. “We’re looking forward to working with SPEED SPORT to showcase Weedsport Speedway to a national television audience.”

The three Big-Block Modified events will put the spotlight on the Northeast’s premier dirt racing series as it takes on Weedsport’s 1/3-mile banked clay oval.

“I’m really pleased to be working with Weedsport Speedway to bring these events to television,” SPEED SPORT’s Chris Dolack said. “We’re passionate about short track dirt racing at SPEED SPORT, and it doesn’t get better than these three events at an incredible facility like Weedsport. What the Weedsport team has done to rejuvenate the home of dirt modified racing in the Northeast has been absolutely amazing.”
