Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Return To Action

DSC_0134WAYCROSS, GA -March 12, 2016- The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will resume competition next week with a trip to Ohio and Indiana. The series will converge on Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, OH on Friday, March 18th before heading to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN on Saturday, March 19th.

A strong contingent of local and regional standouts are expected to battle the elite drivers of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the 2nd Annual Buckeye Spring 50. In 2015, Jonathan Davenport led every lap of a fast and furious Buckeye Spring 50 to claim the victory over Josh Richards, Mason Zeigler, Chris Brown, and Jimmy Owens. The Friday, March 18th event at Atomic Speedway will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. Brownstown Speedway will host the 19th Annual Indiana Icebreaker on Saturday, March 19th. The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, and B-Mains – highlighted by a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start main event. In 2015, Earl Pearson Jr. claimed his third Indiana Icebreaker triumph over Scott Bloomquist, Devin Moran, Jimmy Owens, and Don O’Neal. The ILMS Pro Late Models and UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will both compete for $1,000-to-win on Saturday, March 19th. Defending champion, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Georgia leads the 2015 Rookie of the Year, Brandon Sheppard in the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series standings. Tim McCreadie is third, followed by two-time champion, Scott Bloomquist. Jared Landers completes the top five in series standings. Sixth through eleventh are: Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., Eddie Carrier Jr., Don O’Neal, Jimmy Owens, Steve Francis, and Earl Pearson Jr.
