WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Sahlen Packing Company, Inc. and Watkins Glen Int’l announced Wednesday a multi-year renewal of the New York-based company’s sponsorship of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event.

Sahlen’s is the longest-running entitlement sponsorship at The Glen, with 2016 marking the partnership’s 14th year. With the renewal, the Watkins Glen International Tailgate Zone areas will be re-named the Sahlen’s Tailgate Zone area for the track’s NASCAR weekend, with updated signage and branding. The tailgate zones are reserved weekend trackside infield sites located between turns one and two. Ten (10) tailgate zone admission wristbands are included with each site.

“Joe Sahlen and Sahlen Packing Company continue to be strong supporters of Watkins Glen International, and we are very grateful for that,” said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. “Sahlen’s proximity to our facility as a Buffalo-based company is of great value to everyone involved, and we look forward to continuing this great relationship as the IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship returns to WGI next summer.”

Sahlen Packing Company, a leading producer of premium quality meat products in Western New York, is known for their high quality hot dogs, sausages, and deli meats. Founded in 1869 in Buffalo, New York as a family business, Sahlen’s continues to be the name behind Western New York’s favorite hot dogs.

“Sahlen’s has had a long-standing relationship with Watkins Glen Int’l,” said CEO Joe Sahlen. “We’re all very proud to have been part of the Six Hours of The Glen and look forward to another great year of partnership and an exciting race weekend coming up this summer.”

The IMSA WeatherTech United SportsCar Championship returns to Watkins Glen Int’l June 30-July 3.
