003Halmar International Signs On As Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP North Region Title Sponsor; STSS North Region Kicks Off Saturday, April 2 At Orange County Fair Speedway ‘Hard Clay Open’

BOYERTOWN, PA – A company that burst onto the scene to bolster Northeast dirt Modified racing has now pledged its support to the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP in 2016.

Halmar International’s Chris Larsen forged an agreement with STSS organizer Brett Deyo to sponsor the series’ North Region, which kicks off on Saturday, April 2 at Larsen’s home track of Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y. The Orange County ‘Hard Clay Open’ will now serve as the first round of the STSS Halmar International North Region.

“Chris Larsen has done so much for the sport, and particularly Orange County, I am proud to have him on board for our 2016 STSS season,” Deyo said. “We all should be grateful for his contributions to auto racing in our area and growing commitment to our series.”

The Halmar International North Region consists of nine events at seven venues: Accord (N.Y.) Speedway, Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pa., I-88 Speedway in Afton, N.Y., OCFS, Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y., Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, N.Y., and Woodhull (N.Y.) Raceway.

The trademark BD Motorsports Media LLC event, the “Working Man’s Race” Short Track SuperNationals 9, concludes the series on Oct. 7-8 at the I-88 Speedway on the spacious Afton Fairgrounds.

IMG_4606Through the support of Halmar International, the venerable Orange County fairgrounds facility has been given new life, with widespread renovations and a significantly increased point fund to be paid out at the track’s March 5 Awards Banquet, among a number of high-paying specials events including the annual Eastern States weekend.

Halmar made headlines over the off-season bringing Stewart Friesen and Jimmy Horton to OCFS for weekly competition in 2016. Both drivers will kick off their seasons at the legendary five-eighths-mile at the ‘Hard Clay Open’ event. Friesen, of Sprakers, N.Y., is both the defending series champion and 2015 winner of the season kickoff event at Orange County.

Friesen and Horton are just part of a multi-pronged effort sweeping a variety of drivers and racing divisions supported by Halmar International.

Located in Nanuet, N.Y., Halmar International has a 50-year legacy of service, integrity and performance with expertise in construction, design/build, construction management, procurement management and logistics. Key markets include mass transit, aviation, highways and bridges, and environment, energy, industrial and institutional.
