ACCORD, NY- June 24, 2016- The ‘Ulster County Bullring’ nestled in the Catskill Mountains takes the dirt-track Modified spotlight on Tuesday, July 5.
For the fourth consecutive year, BD Motorsports Media LLC teams with Accord Speedway owners Gary and Donna Palmer to present the New York Truck Parts Inc. ‘Battle of the Bullring 4’ featuring the big-block/small-block Modifieds of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP. Also on the card: STSS Sportsman and Slingshots.
STSS Modifieds race 54 laps around the fast quarter-mile oval for a winner’s share of $5,400-plus as the series’ championship battle intensifies.
The inaugural ‘Battle of the Bullring’ was contested in August 2013 with Danny Creeden of Wurtsboro, N.Y., earning the win. Anthony Perrego of Montgomery, N.Y., was the 2014 victor, with Hurley, N.Y., driver Jackie Brown Jr. topping the ’15 edition.
Erick Rudolph of Ransomville, N.Y., leads the STSS Modified standings into Accord in search of the $12,000 Halmar International North Region title. Rudolph expects to make his debut at Accord in the ‘Battle of the Bullring 4’ spectacular.
The STSS North Region has contested four events this season with a quartet of different winners: Tommy Meier of Waldwick, N.J., at N.Y.’s Orange County Fair Speedway in April; Ryan Watt of Boyertown, Pa., at Big Diamond Speedway (Minersville, Pa.) May 17 (a combo event); Chad Cook of Deposit, N.Y., at N.Y.’s Thunder Mountain Speedway May 29; and Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, N.Y., at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., June 7.
Could Accord produce the series’ fifth different winner in five races?
Open Sportsman have their third event of 2016 under the STSS banner with a 25-lap main offering $1,000 to the winner and Slingshots battle for 20 laps and a $300 winner’s share.
