g4CNf65edy2b373_232_75_47187751New Egypt, NJ -June 5, 2016 – On Super Hero Night at New Egypt Speedway, Danny Bouc conquered the field to take the 358 Modified feature. John Criscione won the Crate Sportsman main event. The Street Stock feature was taken by Mick Search. Doug Twaits and Cale Ross each won a Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie feature.

Polesitter Brian Roemer grabbed the lead as the 30-lap 358 Modified feature got underway. With two tours completed, Danny Bouc slipped by PJ Oliver to take second. Two laps later, Oliver returned the favor and regained the runner-up spot. Quickly, Oliver began to track down Roemer. On the seventh circuit, Oliver and Bouc bolted pass Roemer to take first and second place just before the first caution flag of the contest appeared. When green flag racing resumed, Bouc motored to the front with Oliver, DJ Ruppert, Chad Barney and Billy Pauch, Jr. next in line.

By lap 10 and after a few more caution periods, Bouc was still in command with Oliver, Ruppert, Pauch, Jr. and Ryan Godown in pursuit. On the following circuit, Pauch, Jr and Godown moved past Ruppert to gain third and fourth place respectively. With Bouc beginning to inch away, Oliver lost control of his car as his left rear tire developed an issue on the fourteenth lap.

At the halfway point of the race, the red flag would be displayed as a multi-car tangle located near the exit of turn two caused the track to be blocked. When the green flag waved again, Pauch, Jr. was still on top with Bouc, Dominick Buffalino, Godown and Tad Cox in the chase. On lap 17, Pauch, Jr. slowed and stopped in turn one. This incident caused the yellow flag to wave one final time and Bouc inherited the lead.

After the restart, Bouc began to distance himself in the final third of the contest to take the win. Buffalino bested Godown in a spirited battle for second place. A strong run netted Cox fourth place with Ruppert completing the race in fifth. Roemer, Bouc and Oliver were victors in the 358 Modified heat races. The consolation race went to Clay Butler.

Aaron Weaver paced the field for the opening three circuits before Criscione became the new leader. Once in front, Criscione led the remainder of the event to claim the first place prize. Ryan Simmons fought off a strong challenge from Tom Tanner to finish in second. With Tanner taking third, Weaver was fourth with Frank Dorry, Jr. finishing in fifth.

The Crate Sportsman qualifying contests were won by Shawn Ratchford, Ebby Ridge and Steve Hicks. Dan Fleming took top honors in the consolation event.

After starting in last place, Mick Search drove through the field and survived numerous cautions to win the shortened Street Stock feature. The race, originally scheduled for twenty laps was deemed complete on the seventeenth circuit after the thirty minute time limit had been reached. Search gained the top running spot from John Meyer on the tenth lap. Joe Reid was credited with a second place finish. Kim Cooke, Jack Beaumont and Dan Salmons rounded out the top five finishers.

In the first Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie 8-lap feature, Doug Twaits led every circuit and staved off a last lap charge by Johnny Bangs to win his first race. With Bangs taking second, Kyle Kania took third and Alonzo Morales came home in fourth. After missing the first Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie feature due to electrical issues, Cale Ross made the necessary repairs and led every tour to win the second 8-lap main event. The runner-up spot went to Kania. Bangs, Twaits and Morales completed the running order in the second Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie feature.
