$500 to win Sr. Champ Kart Shootout presented by JPM – August 15 at Mahoning Valley Speedway

(LEHIGHTON, Pa. 8-6-15) Ask any fan of Mahoning Valley Speedway and they will tell you how exciting it is to watch stock cars wheel around the lighting fast paved ¼-mile oval. However, a new element of speed will be added on the night of August 15 when the Sr. Champ Karts will join the line-up.

The Sr. Champ Karts will vie for a $500 first place prize with a full payout going to the entire starting field. The race is being presented by JPM Karting and Mahoning Valley Speedway.

The Sr. Champ Karts are not new to Mahoning Valley, running three times before but this will mark the first time they are included on the regular Saturday night card.

Justin Gumley was the first to win with the Sr. Champ Karts at Mahoning on October 19, 2013. The Champ Karts also made two runs last season, on June 29 and October 26 with Brad Hinkleman and JP Curry winning respectively. Kevin Miller holds the Sr. Champ Kart track record at 11.937-seconds.

In all three races the action was nothing sort of thrilling from start to finish as the karters zipped around Mahoning in some wild drafting fashion at speeds exceeding 75 mph.

The entry fee for this exclusive race is $40, $35 pit pass (non-MVS member) and $12 transponder rental. Karts must weigh 425 lbs. Engines will be the WKA stock flathead. No Jr. Cage Champ Karts or OHV engines allowed. There is no tire rule. Drivers will draw for heat starting spots and then heads up for the 20-lap feature.

Also in action will be Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks which will be running a special 35-lap feature. Main gates open at 4:00 pm.

Adult general admission is $12. $2 off for students, seniors 65+ and active military. Must have ID. Children 10 years old and under are free. Regular warmups begin at 4:00 and racing starts at 6:00. Grandstands open at 4:00.
