American Racer Cup Program set to Take Center Stage

150INDIANA, PA- April 8, 2016-  The popular American Racer Cup program will once again take center stage at premier northeast racing facilities in 2016. The program will be celebrating its seventh year rewarding participating drivers with a program where they never need to leave their home tracks. The ever evolving program will begin tracking members at their local speedways for twenty weeks where the twelve best finishes will be used to determine the season champions in both the modified and sportsman divisions. April 15th marks the beginning of the popular program that annually gives away $150,000 in money and product to the membership.

Registration is open to the last weekend in May for drivers interested in participation. Drivers can sign up at their home tracks by filling out the registration form and returning it to the contact person at each speedway listed below. They can also obtain a form at the American Racer Cup website at www.americanracercup.com and return it by mail to the address listed on the form. Last season over two hundred drivers were part of the program with Rick Laubach from Big Diamond winning the modified championship and pocketing $10,000 plus contingencies. Alan Barker from the Skyline Raceway was the winner in the sportsman division.

147The American Racer Cup Program was designed by Lias Tire. They have teamed up with Sunoco Race Fuels, Insinger Performance, and Jones Racing Products to reward the weekend warriors that supports their weekly participating American Racer speedway. New for the 2016 season will be the Jones Racing Products Winning Edge Award. This program will award product certificate bonuses to the drivers in both the Modified and Sportsman division at season’s end to compile the most overall wins at one of the participating member tracks.  The top five drivers in the overall win category in both the Modified and Sportsman divisions will receive bonus product certificates from Jones Racing Products at season’s end.

The 2016 program will come to an end with the annual running of the American Racer Cup Weekend. This full weekend of racing will be held at Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, New York the first weekend in October. It will be highlighted by long-distance Modified and Sportsman features. Once again the American Racer Cup Champions Dash will take place. The American Racer Champion’s Dash will pit the highest finisher in the American Racer Cup points present at the event against one another for an exciting 15 lap dash for a cool $2,000 to win in the modified division and $1000 for the sportsman winner. All other participant will receive an American Racer Modified tire at no charge.
