New Egypt, NJ – With over a foot of snow forecasted for the Central New Jersey area, New Egypt Speedway management has decided to cancel the 2017 version of the March Meltdown.
“With the way the weather looked, we are looking out for the best interest of all the drivers, car owners, teams and fans”, said Joey Liquori who is a member of the New Egypt Speedway management team. “We didn’t want to see anybody tear any equipment up, we are looking to have a big season this year and we didn’t want to start it off on the wrong foot.
An all-star lineup was taking place for the March Meltdown that included invaders such as Mike Mahaney, Tyler Dippel, Frank Cozze, Danny Creeden, Duane Howard, Jimmy Horton and many more who were to take on the New Egypt Speedway regulars such in Ryan Godown, Billy Pauch Jr., David VanHorn, Danny Bouc and more.
The event will not be made up. The next Big Block vs. Small Block Modified event will be the “Garden State Gunfight” held on Tuesday night June 20th which will be 60-Laps in distance and $6,000 to win with $400 to start.
All entry fee money that was submitted will be mailed back.

Pit gates will open at 10AM for early Tech Inspection and practice will run from 12-4PM and is open to any racing vehicle. Pit admission will be $25 per person with grandstand admission being FREE.
