Virginia Motor Speedway to Host Northern Neck Chevrolet / Pepsi / WIGO Night This Saturday August 29th

 

Jamaica, VA – Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway returns to racing this Saturday August 29th to host Northern Neck Chevrolet / Pepsi / WIGO Night and week thirteen of the 2015 VMS Dirt Series season featuring the Victory Lap Late Model, Aaron’s Pro Late Model, Budweiser Modified, Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions in action.

 

With only two championship point races left the action on the track is sure to be exciting.  In the Victory Lap Late Models defending champion Justin Williams of Concord, VAholds a one point lead over David Williams of Mechanicsville, MD in what is the tightest point battle of all five divisions.

 

In the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division third generation driver Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA  holds a 41 point advantage over Mark Parks of Lynchburg, VA. If Bare holds on to collect the championship he will join his grandfather and father as champions at the speedway.

 

In the Budweiser Modified division Matt Quade Mechanicsville, MD continues to lead the points even after a tough outing last time out. Quade has a 26 point lead on Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA with two races to go.

 

In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman division Chad Beahr of Mechanicsville, VA holds a 14 point advantage over Tommy Upshaw of West Point, VA. Former track champion Roger Jamerson of Mechanicsville, VA will be trying to collect his 200th victory come Saturday night.

 

And in the Collision One Limited Stock Car division Ryan Hutchens of Providence Forge, VA continues atop the standings with a 36 point advantage over Chad Champion of Beaverdam, VA.

 

Competitor gates for Saturday August 29th will open at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps and features are schedule for 8pm.

 

Admission price for adults $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20.

 

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA inJamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
