April 8, 2018 (Fonda, NY) – Sharon Springs New York driver Bobby Varin is excited to throw down for the crown in the summer of 2018. Varin and car owners Alton and Carole Palmer have announced their intentions on chasing the King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified championship.

Varin and the Palmer Racing Team announced recently during a CNY Motorsports interview with Camden Proud they would be adding the KOD Small Block Series to their summer schedule of racing, this after Varin claimed victory in the final two KOD events of the 2017 season at Albany Saratoga and Fonda Speedways.

“We have a DIRTcar legal 358 Modified that we will more than likely bring to Utica Rome Speedway weekly. Then we have an open 358 Modified, which can be compete on the King Of Dirt Tour. That’s only a small number of races and we should be able to fit that in our schedule,” said car owner Alton Palmer.

“Due to our businesses, none of us can concentrate on doing an entire series per say. So we’ll do the local SDS and STSS shows. We plan on doing the full King Of Dirt 358 Series, which is only a small number of races, so I think we’ll be able to run for the championship,” said multi-time champion Bobby Varin.

Bobby Varin will be tough, as he’s had wins at every track on the 2018 Elmo’s Speed Supply King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified tour except Devil’s Bowl Speedway where he’ll have two changes to change that stat this summer.

“Bobby’s a fun guy. I’ve always enjoyed his flamboyant personality and he can wheel. To be king he must outrun the young guns we have and take the current King off the throne, but he’s got as good a chance as anyone. It’ll be fun having that team on tour with us this summer,” said KOD promoter Rob Hazer.

The official registration form is available to all drivers via the website on the rules page. All drivers competing in any King Of Dirt Racing event must fill the form out, which will also be available at the track. To avoid lines or waiting at the track it is suggested to print it out, fill it out, and mail it in.
