UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY MAKES SLIGHT RULE CHANGES TO MODIFIED AND OPEN SPORTSMAN DIVISION

VERNON, NY- With the start of the 2015 season rapidly closing in, Utica-Rome Speedway officials have made slight rule modifications to the Stampede Steakhouse Modified and Open Sportsman divisions which will be effective immediately.

For 2015, in the Stampede Steakhouse Modifieds all small block powered Modifieds must weigh 2,450 pounds while Big Block Modifieds must weigh 2,500 lbs. All measurements are post-race and the track scales are official.

In the Open Sportsman, the open motors will now be allowed to use four barreled carburetors in weekly competition. The carburetor options will be as follows-Holley 4412 500 cfm, Holley 4777 650 cfm, 80777 650 cfm, or 80543-1HP 650 cfm. Also, all cars must have a post-race weight of 2,400 lbs.

The first event of the 2015 season is nearly here with the opener scheduled for April 19 with a full show of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing presented by Tri Valley Beverage. The Stampede Steakhouse Modifieds will compete in a pair of $2,000 to win 20 lap features while the 602 Sportsman, Open Sportsman, and Pro Street Stocks will compete in regular events.
