1-WallA62516 529WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Wall Stadium Speedway will celebrate the Labor Day holiday weekend with six feature races for five stock car divisions this Saturday evening (Sept. 3). Highlighting the card will be Twin Downs Ford Modified 40-lap main events. The first, rain postponed from July 30, will be contested before regularly scheduled qualifying at 5:30 p.m. sharp. The second will be presented later in the evening as a part of the regularly scheduled racing card. Grandstand seating opens at 5:00 p.m. and regularly scheduled main events will start at 7:00 p.m.

These two Modified feature races are crucial in the race for the 2016 driving crown. Point leader and defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson is currently being chased by four time Modified champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, feature winner Shawna Ingraham of Brick, two-time winner Andrew Krause of Holmdel and Howell’s Eric Mauriello.

Series regulars also expected to see action include Jimmy Blewett of Howell, Ron Frees of Brick, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, brothers Trevor and Zack Alspach, both of Willingboro, and Jason Hearne of New Egypt.

The Modifieds are not the only racers in Saturday night’s spotlight. The Snap On Sportsman cars are slated for a 30-lapper, while the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars, Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks will all see action in regularly scheduled 25-lap main events. A special Mechanic’s Race is also on the “Country Night Take 2 Night” event schedule.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. The rain postponed 40-lap Modified feature and qualifying starts at 5:30 p.m. with regularly scheduled main events to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday night auto racing continues every week through October 1. Post-season races are set for October 15 and Thanksgiving weekend during the day light hours.
