THE MODIFIED 811 DIG SAFE SERIES IS SET TO BEGIN ON FRIDAY, APRIL 24 AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
Sicklerville, NJ (April 20, 2015) – After several months of planning, the much anticipated Modified 811 Dig Safe Series is set to begin on Friday, April 24 at Bridgeport Speedway. The five race series, for any type of dirt Modified Stock Car, will be held on the quarter mile track at the Southern New Jersey complex. For the opening contest, a diverse field of drivers is expected to be on hand. Corey Andersen, Brett Ballard, Bobby Bracall, Lou Cicconi, Johnny Cornell, Jesse Dill, Joe Dill, Bob Drayton, Jason Duppel, Lauren Emmons, Frank Holmes, Jimmy Horton, Richie Pratt, Jr., Brad Roberts, Ron Roberts, Pete Serra and Ricky Wegner have indicated their desire to participate in the opening contest. Several other drivers such as Scott Ambruster, Tommy Beamer, Stan Frankenfield, and Sam Martz are planning to compete in the series and may be on hand for the first race. Due to a prior commitment, Mike Iles will be not be at the opener but should be a competitor in the remaining races.  On Friday, April 24, all gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting underway at 8:00 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults while pit admission is $30. In addition to the Modifieds, wingless 600cc Micro-Sprints, winged 270cc Micro-Sprints and 4-Cylinder Stock Cars will be in action on the quarter mile.
The first leg of the Modified 811 Dig Safe Series on April 24 coincides with the month of April being designated as the National Dig Safe Month. The month long awareness of 811 serves as a reminder to all people who excavate or dig to call 811, at least 72 hours prior to digging, to have the approximate location of their utility lines marked. This process helps prevent injuries, property damage, and inconvenient utility outages.
The remaining events for the Modified 811 Dig Safe Series take place on May 15, June 12, July 10 and July 31. The champion of the Modified 811 Dig Safe Series will be awarded a minimum of $1,000.  The driver that finishes in second will take home at least $500 while a minimum of $250 will go to the third place finisher in the point standings. In addition, all drivers that compete in all five contests but who finish out of the top five in points will be given perfect attendance bonus checks. Distribution of all point fund and bonus monies in the Modified 811 Dig Safe Series will be completed by Wiz Motorsports Communications at the 2015 Bridgeport Speedway banquet.
After the series, the $10,000 to win Romp in the Swamp Call Before You Dig Championship takes center stage on Saturday, September 26.
