OSWEGO, NY –October 4, 2016- It was a relatively quiet Monday as many teams opted not to partake in the extra day of Early-Bird inspection, however some prominent Modified teams did put their cars through the inspection line.
The most notable drivers to see their cars go through technical inspection today were Brett Hearn, Pat Ward and Larry Wight.
As far as technical inspection goes, there wasn’t much out of the ordinary today. A little trim here, a question there, but that was about it. We didn’t see any of the radical designs or paint scheme changes that we’re accustomed to seeing when Super DIRT Week took place on the ‘Moody Mile’ at Syracuse.
Larry Wight’s team had hoped to beat the clock by getting their 358 modified in line in time to make the 5pm deadline for inspection, but they were turned away, so that team will have to come back through again tomorrow.
The Modifieds were not the only division to take to technical inspection today. A few of the Pro-Stock competitors also took advantage of the Early-Bird inspection.
Notable Pro-Stock drivers to bring their cars through inspection were Gus Hollner, Nick Stone, Albany-Saratoga Champion Robbie Speed, Luke Horning and Bruno Cyr.
As far as the facility itself, the Oswego Speedway and DIRTcar staff have done an amazing job in getting things in order in a relatively short amount of time. Their efforts should be commended. .
