42 Modifieds, 32 Sportsman, 25 600cc Xcel Modifieds, and 8 Street Stocks entered Sunday night’s program. It was the debut of the Short Track Super Series South Region fueled by Hi-Tek Race Fuels.

A decent sized crowd came out for it. A lot better than the previous weeks by far.

Brett Kressley continued his domination of the Sportsman class by winning at Bridgeport. It was his third win in three days after previously winning at Big Diamond on Friday and Grandview on Saturday.

Ryan Watt was the show in the Modified feature rim riding around the 5/8 Mile Speedway. Watt would run as high as second and challenge for the lead until it seemed his tires went away late in the feature.

David VanHorn pulled double duty on Sunday running both his family owned 71 and an Xcel Modified. He would place top five in both races.

Was nice to see former New Egypt Speedway Sportsman front runner Jack Swain in competition. Swain would have the best run of his Modified career coming home fifth.

Rick Laubach led every lap of the 40 lap affair. At one point he had a full straightaway lead over the second place car.

Eric Kormann had a rough day, after qualifying through the consolation, Kormann had an unfortunate run-in with Wade Hendrickson late in the going of Sunday’s feature. Kormann exited his car and voiced his opinion right on the Speedway with Kormann.

It was nice to see cars from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland in competition.

Tire wear didn’t seem to be that big of an issue, I looked at Rick Laubach’s RR tire during Victory Lane and it only started to cup.

After such nice weather on Saturday, Sunday was cloudy and cold enough I needed a coat.

Bridgeport is back in action both Friday and Saturday this weekend featuring Modifieds on the 1/4 Mile on Friday as the 811 Dig Safely Modified Series kicks off, and their 2015 points season kicks off on Saturday with Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Rookie Sportsman.
