MRP_5704-X2DUNDEE, NY- May 18, 2016- After the huge success that was last week’s running of Thursday Night Thunder, weekly racing on Friday nights returns for Friday May 20th’s program.  But this is no ordinary night of racing- it is the rescheduled running of the Outlaw Spring Nationals.

This night will include special races for the Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, IMCA Modifieds and also ushers in the first stop of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for 2016.  This show will be a ‘cannot miss show’ as all weekly divisions will see action on this night as well.  It is also Military Veterans Night, which will offer $10 admission for Veterans of any age with proper identification.

The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints are well under way for their 2016 tour and will bring the traveling speed and thrill show to the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ on Friday night.  The 360 Sprints will race for a $2,000 top prize and will be rewarded $250 just to take the green flag.

MRP_5703-X2The Friendly Dodge and Ford Big Block/Small Block Modifieds will compete in the Outlaw Spring Nationals- a thirty-lap feature paying $3,000 to the winner.  It also serves as the first leg in the Outlaw Challenge, where one driver has the opportunity to win $25,000 from our friends at Sunoco Race Fuels.  That driver would also have to win the Outlaw Fall Nationals and Dutch Hoag National Open in order to take the $25,000 prize.  If that driver wins two-out-of-three, they would win a $12,500 bonus.

The Super Gen Products/Champion Power Equipment Grit Racing Series will also be in town for the Spring Nationals with their series racing in a thirty-lap special.  This race will fall under the American Racer Series banner and will come fresh off the ‘Clash of the Crates’ just three nights previous at the Penn Can Speedway.

The IMCA Modified Empire State Series will also compete in their own series event, going twenty-five laps in distance.  With twenty-one cars showing up to last week’s event on Thursday and I-88 Speedway taking the night off from IMCA’s- a full field is expected for the Empire State Series event.

MRP_5545-X3Of course the RUSH Crate Late Models will also be in attendance to compete in their second twenty-lap feature of 2016.  Bryce Davis has been red hot to start this season and picked up the opening night victory last Thursday, leading from the half-way point to the checkered flag.

Chuck Winslow pulled off the infamous slingshot move in turn four last Thursday as the checkered flag was in hand to win the first Creekside Entertainment Street Stock race of 2016.  With the draw/redraw format being in place for the next two events, look for outsiders like Dylan Cecce to make a return appearance to Dundee as the normal handicap will not hurt their chances of starting up front.

Codie Baker won the Four Cylinder feature in thrilling fashion last Friday and will look to do much of the same this Friday in that division’s twenty-lap go.  Rich Sharpsteen surely wasn’t happy finishing second last week, which should have the defending track champion all over the wheel in search of his first win since the track was re-named Outlaw Speedway.

Ajay Potrzebowski Jr. wrote his name in the history books as the first winner in Outlaw Speedway history during Thursday Night Thunder in the Winners Circle Deli Bandit division.  It’s uncertain what drivers will be full-time in this division in 2016, but one driver to watch for is Austin Labar from Prattsburgh, N.Y.  He will be looking to rebound from his bad luck last Thursday night, having to drop out due to a mechanical problem.

The atmosphere at Outlaw Speedway is going to be electric as so many storylines lead the field into the pit area on Friday night. Some of the best to wheel dirt modifieds and 360 sprint cars will be on display Friday night!  You won’t want to miss out on the excitement, so grab a friend and make your way to Outlaw Speedway in Dundee.

Race Notes For Thursday night:

Rain checks from the Outlaw Spring Nationals that was rained out on April 22nd will still be good for the rescheduled May 20th Outlaw Spring Nationals.  50/50 tickets from April 22nd will be added to the May 20th drawing, so hold on to those tickets!

General admission gates open Friday night at 5PM and will be $20 for adults 13 and up, with Seniors being $18.  Children 12 and under are always FREE at Outlaw Speedway.  Military Veterans with proper ID will be $10 for any age veteran.  Pit passes Friday will be $35 with pit gates opening at 2:30PM to accommodate the incoming sprint car teams.

Outlaw Speedway has not yet received their liquor license from New York State.  Fans will be allowed to bring canned beer into the races Friday night- one six-pack of cans per fan will be permitted.  Outlaw Speedway requests that fans only consume beer in the designated alcohol permitted areas of the grandstand, and do so in a responsible manner.
