Reed, Drown, Ryan, Foos wear Attica Raceway Park crowns

ATTICA, Ohio – Attica Raceway Park capped off an exciting 2015 season during the traditional awards banquet Friday where $63,000 in point fund money was handed out to 40 competitors in the four weekly divisions.

Also, during the awards ceremony former sprint car driver and television race broadcaster Brad Doty was on hand to talk about the move of the Brad Doty Classic back to the Attica – where the event started in 1989 as a way to raise funds for Doty who had been injured in a sprint car crash at Eldora Speedway. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws.

Promoter John Bores, who wrapped up his 10th year as the promoter of Attica Raceway Park, thanked all the fans, race teams, employees and sponsors for their loyal support. He said a new scoring tower was being built and new dirt had been put on the track. ARP Director of Operations Rex LeJeune also thanked all the wrecker and push truck operators for their support. Also, Kevin Benfer announced the annual Turn 2 Party he and his wife Amy host, raised over $1,700 for the Hoserville Ohio Injured Drivers Fund.

Byron Reed took home $10,000 for winning his seventh O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 Sprint title at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” venue. Reed, from Monclova, Ohio, became the first driver to win not only the Attica title but the Kistler Racing Products FAST championship and Fremont title all in the same year. Reed competed in all 17 A-mains in 2015. He recorded his 31st career Attica win on Aug. 21st and sits second on the track’s all-time win list. Reed recorded an incredible 11 top five finishes and 15 top 10 finishes. Besides his win, he scored five second place finishes. His average A-main finishing position was sixth.

Wooster, Ohio’s Doug Drown had a dream season. Not only did he take home the $7,500 championship in the Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models at Attica, he also scored the title at Wayne County Speedway and took the Attica Raceway Park/Wayne County Speedway Late Model Challenge Series title. Drown scored his first Attica championship by competing in 17 of the 18 A-mains, missing only the season finale. He scored seven wins in 2015 – April 24, May 8, May 15, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7 and Aug. 21. He now has 13 career wins at Attica and sits second on the track’s all-time win list. Drown recorded 14 top five finishes and 15 top 10 finishes. Besides his seven wins, he scored four runner-up finishes. His average A-main finishing position was fourth.

Castalia, Ohio teenager Jordan Ryan wrapped up his second consecutive championship in the Foster Auto Body 305 Sprints, earning $3,000 for his efforts. The 2014 champion edged Bobby Clark by seven points. Ryan competed in 15 of the 16 A-mains, missing only the June 5 event. He recorded four straight wins – April 10, April 17, April 24 and May 1 – to run his career total to nine at Attica. Other than a 17th place finish on the final night, Jordan never finished out of the top six! He recorded a remarkable 13 top five finishes. Besides his four wins, Ryan recorded 3 runner-up finishes. His average A-main finishing position was an incredible fourth!

Matt Foos scored his first ever track championship, earning $600 for the title in the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks. Foos, from Fremont, Ohio, competed in nine of the 10 A-mains in 2015, missing only the season finale. Of those nine features, Foos won four of them – June 5, July 3, July 31 and Aug. 7. He added a pair of runner-up finishes. His average A-main finishing position was fourth!

O’Reilly 410 Sprints, 10th through 2nd
10th – Caleb Griffith, Castalia, Ohio – The 2014 Attica champion competed in 10 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. Griffith recorded three top five finishes including a pair of third place runs. He also scored seven top 10 finishes. His average feature finishing position was 10th.

9th – D.J. Foos, Fremont, Ohio – The track’s 2010 305 sprint champion competed in 13 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. He recorded a pair of top five runs including a season best third on May 1st. He scored six top 10 finishes and his average A-main finishing position was 11th.

8th – Duane Zablocki, Tiffin, Ohio. Zablocki competed in 10 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three top 10 finishes this season including a season best eighth on Aug. 7. His average A-main finishing position was 13th.

7th-Tyler Gunn, Napoleon, Ohio. A rookie to 410 racing in 2015, Gunn competed in 12 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three top 10 finishes including a season best sixth on Aug. 28. His average feature finishing position was 13th.

6th – Cap Henry, Bellevue, Ohio. Henry competed in 14 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. He scored a pair of wins – May 15and July 31st – to run his career total to four at Attica. He recorded seven top five finishes and nine top 10 runs. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

5th – Nate Dussel, Gibsonburg, Ohio. Attica’s 2015 rookie of the year and a three time 305 sprint track champion, competed in 11 of the 17 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three top five finishes including a pair of season-best third place runs. He also recorded five top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was 11th.

4th- Chris Andrews, Sandusky, Ohio. The track’s 2009 410 champion and 2006 305 champion, Andrews competed in 15 of the track’s 17 A-mains in 2015, missing only opening night against the All Stars and on May 29th against the World of Outlaws. He recorded seven top five finishes including a season best pair of runner-up runs. He scored 10 top 10 finishes and his average A-main finishing position was ninth.

3rd-Stuart Brubaker, Gibsonburg, Ohio. The track’s 2008 305 champion competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, missing only the May 29th World of Outlaws show. He recorded four wins in 2015 – July 3, July 10, July 24 and August 28. Brubaker recorded five top five runs and 10 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

2nd- Dean Jacobs, Wooster, Ohio – The track’s 2011 champion competed in 15 of the 17 A-mains in 2015, missing only opening night against the All Stars and against the All Stars on June 19th. He scored a pair of wins – April 17th and May 1st – and recorded eight top five finishes and 14 top tens. In fact, he only finished out of the top eight once – a 23rd place run against the World of Outlaws. His average A-main finishing position was fifth.

Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models, 10th through 2nd
10th – Devin Shiels, Britton, Michigan. Devin competed in 14 of the 18 A-mains in 2015. He recorded a season best third place run. He scored 10 top 10 finishes and his average A-main finishing position was 10th.

9th-Josh Haynes, Fostoria, Ohio. The former track rookie of the year competed in 14 of the 18 A-mains in 2015. He recorded a season best sixth on route to an average A-main finishing position of 15th.

8th – Cody Scott, Ontario, Ohio. Scott competed in 13 of the 18 A-mains in 2015. He recorded five top 10 runs including a season best seventh on championship night. His average A-main finishing position was 12th.

7th – Larry Kingseed, Castalia, Ohio. A five time limited late model champion, Kingseed competed in all 18 A-mains in 2015. Larry recorded two top fives including a season-best fifth. He also scored nine top 10 finishes. His average A-main finish was 11th.

6th-Matt Irey, Mansfield, Ohio. Irey competed in 15 of the 18 A-mains in 2015. He recorded his first career win on April 10th. He scored eight top five finishes and 11 top 10 finishes. His average feature finishing position was seventh.

5th – Ryan Missler, Bellevue, Ohio – The five time Attica track champion competed in all 18 A-mains in 2015. He recorded seven top five finishes including a pair of runner-up finishes and a pair of third place showings. Missler had 14 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

4th – Mike Bores, Bellevue, Ohio – Bores competed in 17 of the 18 A-mains in 2015, missing only the Lucas Oil Late Model Series feature on Sept. 4. He scored eight top five finishes and 14 top 10 finishes. His best finish was three third place runs. Mike’s average A-main finishing position was seventh.

3rd – Chris Keller, Adrian, Michigan. Keller competed in 17 of the 18 A-mains in 2015, missing only the season finale on Sept. 5. He opened the season with his first career win on April 4. He recorded eight top five runs and 12 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

2nd – Ryan Markham, Ashland, Ohio. Markham competed in 17 of the 18 A-mains in 2015, missing only the Lucas Oil Late Model Series feature. He scored three wins in 2015 – May 1, May 29th and Sept. 5 – to take his career total to seven, moving him to fifth on the track’s all-time win list. Markham recorded an incredible 13 top five finishes, adding two runner-up finishes to go with his wins. Markham never finished out of the top 10 all season! His average A-main finishing position was a remarkable fourth.

Foster Auto Body 305 Sprints, 10th through 2nd
10th- Tyler Street, Ashland, Ohio . Attica’s 305 rookie of the year competed in 15 of the 16 A-mains in 2015, missing only the Aug. 7 event. He recorded three top 10 finishes including a season best third on Aug. 21. His average A-main finishing position was 13th.

9th- Dan McCarron, Dundee, Mich. McCarron competed in 14 of the 16 A-mains, missing only the June 5th and final show of the year. He recorded five top 10 finishes including a season-best fifth on May 15. His average A-main finishing position was 11th.

8th – Paul Weaver, Fremont, Ohio. Weaver, the 2009 track champion, competed in 15 of the 16 A-mains in 2015, missing only the June 5 event. He picked up his 33rd career feature win on May 8th and sits atop the division’s all-time win list. Paul recorded seven top five finishes, adding a pair of runner-up finishes to his lone victory. Weaver had 13 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was seventh.

7th- Kyle Capodice, Sandusky, Ohio. Capodice competed in all 16 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three top five finishes including a season-best third on July 10th. Capodice had 13 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was ninth.

6th – Seth Schneider, Fremont, Ohio. Schneider competed in all 16 A-mains in 2015. He recorded four top five runs including a season-best second on July 3. He also recorded nine top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was ninth

5th – Ricky Peterson, Rawson, Ohio. Peterson competed in all 16 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three top five finishes including a season-best runner-up finish on Aug. 7. He also scored 13 top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

4th – Steve Rando, Lindsey, Ohio. Rando competed in 15 of the 16 A-mains in 2015, missing only the opening night event. He picked up his fourth career Attica win on Aug. 21st. He had 11 top five finishes and 12 top 10 finishes. Besides his win, Rando had a pair of runner-up finishes and three third place funs. His average A-main finishing position was seventh.

3rd – Jamie Miller, Fremont, Ohio. The track’s 2005 champion competed in all 16 A-mains in 2015. He picked up three wins – May 15, July 3 and July 10 – to run his career total to 12. Miller recorded nine top five finishes and 12 top 10 finishes. Besides his three wins, he recorded a pair of runner-up finishes and three third place runs. His average A-main finishing position was seventh.

2nd – Bobby Clark, Fremont, Ohio. Clark, the 2015 JLH General Contractor 305 FAST champion, competed in all 16 A-mains in 2015. He recorded three straight wins – July 24, July 31 and Aug. 7 – to run his career total to 19, moving him into fourth on the track’s all-time win list for the division. Clark recorded 12 top five finishes – besides his three wins he scored a pair of runner-up finishes. Clark only finished out of the top 10 once – a 12th place showing on July 3. His average A-main finishing position was fifth.

Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks, 10th through 2nd
10th- Kyle Cline, Ashland, Ohio. Cline competed in five of the 10 events in 2015. He recorded his first career win to open the season on April 10. His average A-main finishing position was fifth

9th – Brad Keckler, Green Springs, Ohio. Keckler competed in five of the 10 events in 2015. His best finish was a pair of seventh place runs. His average A-main finishing position was 10th.

8th – Curt Inks, Green Springs, Ohio. Inks competed in seven of the 10 A-mains. He recorded a pair of season-best fourth place finishes. His average A-main finishing position was eighth.

7th – Brian Arnold, Tiffin, Ohio. The 2010 track champion competed in eight of the 10 A-mains, missing only the July 3 and Aug. 7 events. He picked up his 10th career win on the season finale, moving him into third on the track’s all-time win list for the division. He also had a pair of runner-up finishes and had six top 10 finishes. His average A-main finishing position was sixth.

6th – Dana Fry, Clyde, Ohio. Fry competed in eight of the 10 A-mains, missing only the Aug. 7 and 21 events. He scored five top five finishes including a pair of season-best third place finishes. His average A-main finishing position was fifth.

5th – Eric Devanna, Kansas, Ohio. Devanna competed in nine of the 10 A-mains, missing only the season opener. He scored his first career racing win on Aug. 21. Devanna never finished outside of the top 10. His average A-main finishing position was fifth.

4th – Brandon Leighton, Fremont, Ohio. Last year’s rookie of the year competed in all 10 A-mains in 2015. He recorded eight top 10 finishes including a season-best pair of third place finishes. His average A-main eighth.

3rd – Dustin Keegan, Fremont, Ohio. The 2013 track champion competed in nine of the 10 A-mains in 2015, missing only the season finale. He recorded a season best four fifth place finishes and never finished out of the top 10. His average A-main finishing position was sixth.

2nd – Keith Sorg, Fremont, Ohio. Sorg competed in all 10 A-mains in 2015. He recorded six top five finishes and never finished worse than seventh. He recorded a season best three third place finishes. His average A-main finishing position was fifth.
