Practice Is Over, Racing Now On Tap At Thunder Mountain Speedway; Non-Points Event Scheduled For April 23; Championship Battles Begin April 30

dm 222 8957 (1200x803)CENTER LISLE, NY –April 21, 2016-  More than 70 race cars – representing a variety of divisions – turned their first laps of 2016 this past Saturday at Thunder Mountain Speedway.

Now, it’s “go time” at the three-eighths-mile clay oval featuring a thick layer of new clay and increased banking in both corners.

Practice turns to competition on April 23 with a special “non-points” pre-season event. The action will include Open Sportsman, Crate 602 Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks, XCel 600 Modifieds and FWD Four Cylinders. There will also be practice time allotted for other visiting divisions.

Full 2016 weekly purse structures will be paid in all divisions on the schedule. A draw-for-position format will determine starting lineups.

Pit gates will open at 3 p.m. Hot laps begin at 5:20 p.m. and racing will take the green at 6 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $10 for April 23. Seniors (ages 65 and over) and Students (ages 10-17) pay $10. Kids 9 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30, with no license required.

Modifieds race for $1,992 to win in a 30-lap event, with Open Sportsman, Crate 602 Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks, XCel 600 Modifieds and FWD Four Cylinders completing the card. Point battles begin for all divisions at this event.
