MIDDLETOWN, NY (May 29)……..More than 70 former drivers, car owners, and friends of the speedway have indicated they’ll be on hand this Saturday, June 2 for the annual Nostalgia Night at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. This promises to be a fun-filled night of remembrance, autographs, and interviews as Orange County celebrates its long and glorious stock car racing history.

Among the great racing stars from the past returning to Orange County are Gary Balough and Buzzie Reutimann. Balough will be signing copies of his newly-released biography as well as having the infamous 1980 Super DIRT Week winning “Batmobile” Modified on display. Reutimann is bringing his current race car from Florida to take a few laps around the Hard Clay speedway. He will be accompanied by his son, David Reutimann, a former winning NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver.

In addition to this colorful look back at Orange County racing history, a full program of Big-Block Modified, Sportsman, and Street Stock racing is scheduled. The Street Stocks will be competing in the $500-to-win Marky Traverse Memorial Race. And to make the night complete, the restored and vintage race cars of the Northeast Vintage Modified Racing Club and the Atlantic Coast Old Timers will help fans recall the great race cars of yesterday.

An extended intermission period will allow fans to interact and get autographs with the returning stars of The Hard Clay. Fans will be able to purchase a special “Nostalgia Night” tee shirt from Dave’s Racing Collectibles stand. A poster for autographs will also be available at no charge for fans’ autograph collecting.

Sponsor for the evening is Home 2 Suites by Hilton, a new hotel on the outskirts of Middletown.

Admission prices for the big June 2 race meet remain at $15 adults, $13 seniors, and $1.00 for children 12 and under. There is a $1.00 car charge in the Drive-In section. Please note that this full night of racing and reminiscence begins promptly at 6:30 pm.

Advance ticket sales and track information is available at the Orange County website, www.orangecountyfairspeedway.net, or from the Track Office. Call 845-342-2573 during business hours. Additional drivers wishing to take part in Nostalgia Night are asked to contact the speedway office to be included in the activities.
