Prediction Time: Sprint Car Edition
by Pete MacDonald – I truly have a feeling while Donny Schatz will win his 7th World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series title in 2015, BUT, deep down I think Brad Sweet now that he has a full season under his belt will be a title contender, along with Paul McMahan in the Chad and Jenn Clemens 51.
The Renegade Sprint Car Series will win the “Battle of Ohio” between themselves and the All Star Circuit of Champions. In fact, I’ll really be surprised if the ASCoC will make it through 2015.
California will continue to replace Pennsylvania as the toughest competition that the World of Outlaws face when they stop there. There is just so much YOUNG talent out there like Dominic Scelzi, Kyle Hirst, Carson Macedo, Rico Abreu and so much more.
Sammy Swindell won’t stay retired, I’m sure he’ll end up in something besides the Chili Bowl before the year is out.
Brian Brown will win the Inaugural National Sprint League title while picking up at least 3 more World of Outlaws wins during 2015.
The Apple Motorsports #12 and Tim Shaffer will have a multiple win season in 2015, they are expected to start out there season at the Icebreaker at Lincoln Speedway on February 21st.
As much as people won’t like it Tyler Walker will get back into a Sprint Car at some point during the 2015 season. I wish the same could be said for Tony Stewart, but I just don’t see it coming anytime soon at least.
305 Sprint Cars will continue to replace 360’s. Nationwide, 360’s are just too expensive to run and maintain weekly when you can have an entry level 410 for about the same cost.
I’m curious to see how long Jason Johnson will be able to hold out on the road with the World of Outlaws, but I guess if the Allen’s were able to pull it off, Johnson should be able to as well.
Steve Kinser’s switch to J&J Chassis and new Crew Chief Jimmy Carr will pay big dividends throughout the year when and where he chooses to race.
As much as I DONT want to see it, I really think USAC is going to struggle with car counts for all their divisions in 2015.
The now Three-Day National Open at Williams Grove will be successful, and I like the format that is being discussed for it.
Random thought? Maybe I’ll start a Sprint Car Series right now too, it seems to be the cool thing to do…
