Prediction Time: Nascar Edition
Prediction Time: NASCAR Edition – By: Pete MacDonald
Call it whatever or however you want, Kyle Larson will contend for the 2015 Sprint Cup Championship. As long as he can win a race, and we all know that its coming very soon he will go far in the 2015 Chase, just based off of his 2014 Chase alone where he scored more points than any other driver during the final ten races.
Carl Edwards will struggle with his transfer over to Joe Gibbs Racing. People can say what they want about when Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, and Kevin Harvick all went to new teams but those guys all went to already established teams that had been together for a while, JGR is still building up an inventory for the #19 team for Edwards as we get closer to Speedweeks.
Taking horsepower away from the cars is only going to help Matt Kenseth as I believe he will not only return to Victory Lane in 2015, but do it often.
Kevin Harvick and Rodney Childers will prove again in 2015 that they are the next Jimmie Johnson/Chad Knaus of NASCAR, from what I’ve seen this offseason these two and their families have literally done everything together and that’s only going to help them come race day.
Could you imagine what it would do for the future of our sport if say a Ryan Blaney, or a Chase Elliott in a part time schedule could pick up a Sprint Cup win during 2015?
After what could have been the Greatest field of Rookie-Of-The-Year Candidates in 2014, the way it looks right now, you can already start engraving Trevor Bayne’s name on the 2015 version.
I really hope the way 2014 ended is how 2015 begins as far as TV ratings and attendance go. Hopefully switching some dates around to where they used to be will help with some of this.
I just don’t see Elliott Sadler’s move over to Roush-Fenway as a good one, I hope I’m wrong but, maybe it’s the driver and not the team(s). Bubba Wallace on the other hand paired up with Chris Buescher I think will flourish, the sky is the limit for those two.
Joey Logano will win the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup proving the theory even more that you have to lose one before you can win one.
Tony Stewart will return to Victory Lane in 2015 and all of NASCAR Nation will breathe a sigh of relief.
Dale Earnhardt will come out slow with new crew chief Greg Ives, if anyone remembers in the past with Dale Jr, whenever he gets a new crew chief, he seems to struggle right off the bat. I still think he will win one or two races though in 2015.
Danica Patrick will win a restrictor plate race making her the First ever Female to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup, Fitting it’s a contract year for her as well.
Jeff Gordon will make the Chase this year, but not be as lethal as he was this past year.
Jimmie Johnson figured something out late in 2014, he will make the Final-4 going into Homestead in 2015.
I hope Brad Keselowski continues to ruffle peoples feathers as he did in 2014, the sport needs more people like him.
