Penn Can Speedway Schedule To Be Released at PPB Motorsports Racecar and Trade Show
2015 PENN CAN SPEEDWAY SCHEDULE COMING TOGETHER; SLINGSHOTS BY TOBIAS ADDED TO WEEKLY SCHEDULE; HARPELL NOT RETURNING TO YATES COUNTY, WILL FOCUS SOLELY ON PENN CAN
SUSQUEHANNA, PA…Exciting things are being planned for the upcoming racing season at Penn Can Speedway. The 2015 racing schedule is coming along nicely and is expected to be released at the upcoming PPB Motorsports Racecar and Trade Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
It was recently announced that Dan Harpell has taken over as the new Promoter of Penn Can Speedway. Harpell, who is no stranger to the track, was quick to dispel any rumors that mass changes would occur. He stressed that it will be business as usual at the Susquehanna speedplant in 2015, with a smooth transition planned. Rules will basically remain the same as 2014.
The schedule will also look very familiar but there will be a couple of new, or possibly renewed, exciting additions that will be announced when the schedule is released. One of the new additions to the weekly card will be the Slingshots by Tobias. The class, made popular by racing great Rich Tobias, is hugely successful throughout Pennsylvania and will be a welcomed addition to the track. It’s where future stars will start their careers.
Harpell, who was the Promoter at Yates County Speedway in Dundee in 2014, will not be returning there in 2015. He instead will focus all of his attention on Penn Can Speedway. “We had a plan in place to oversee both facilities in 2015 but unfortunately negotiations to return to Yates County could not be worked out and we will not be returning there next season”, said Harpell. “Now that that has been resolved we will be able to focus all of our energy and effort into continuing the success that Reed Miller and Al Wilcox were able to accomplish over the years at Penn Can. I am really excited to be coming home and can’t wait for the season to start”, he added.
