SUSQUEHANNA, PA…If Kevin Hartnett is to repeat as Penn Can Speedway Track Champion in 2015, he will have to fend off a strong list of contenders trying to knock him off the throne.  The quest for the 2015 title will begin with the “Can Opener” on Friday, April 24th.

Alan Rudalavage will have a brand new car at his disposal for an all out assault on the championship.  He will be behind the wheel of a new Troyer for 2015.  In the past he has missed some nights of racing due to his son’s football games.  He won’t have any conflicts this year and is on a mission to take home the championship.

Another driver that will be a strong contender for the title is Joey Grammes, who will be joining forces with a new car owner in 2015.  Grammes will pilot a new Bicknell chassis with a Morrison small block providing the power.  Grammes is another driver that has missed races in the past to be at his son’s baseball games.  With no conflicts on his schedule, he too will be one to watch to take home championship honors.  The new owner of the car will be announced in the near future.

Someone new to Penn Can in 2015 is a driver that is very familiar to the track.  Former Sportsman standout Nick Petrilak has announced his plans to compete weekly at Penn Can in 2015.  Petrilak moved up to the Modified ranks in 2014 and had an outstanding year, coming home second in the points at Five Mile Point.  This will be the first time Petrilak will call Penn Can home on Friday’s in several years and he will instantly be a threat for the title.

These are just a few of the drivers that will be vying for Track Championship honors at Penn Can in 2015.  They will all get their first shot when the track plays host to the annual “Can Opener” on Friday, April 24th.  The Modifieds will be joined by the 602 Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders, Factory Stocks and Slingshots at the opener and on a weekly basis this season.

The track is scheduled to host two practice sessions.  They will take place on Friday April 10th and Friday, April 17th.  Penn Can Speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.
