Olum’s Presents $10,000 “Double Down Challenge” At Thunder Mountain Speedway Sunday, June 28 For ‘Lightning on the Mountain’ Special; A Short Track Super Series Modified & SpeedSTR Sweep Worth 10 Grand!
CENTER LISLE, NY – Thanks to Olum’s, one competitor will have the opportunity to collect a $10,000 payday at Thunder Mountain Speedway on Sunday, June 28.
As part of the speedway’s second annual ‘Lightning on the Mountain’ special event, Olum’s will present a “Double Down Challenge” for drivers competing in both the Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek big-block/small-block Modifieds and the Speedway Entertainment SpeedSTRs.
Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek Modifieds will be racing for Bob Hilbert Sportswear North Region points, while the SpeedSTRs will do battle for the Action Track USA All-Pro Tour championship.
The Modifieds run 50 laps for $5,000 to win, while the Rich “Toby” Tobias Jr.-built SpeedSTRs – in their Thunder Mountain debut – will be featured in a 30-lap main offering a $3,000 winner’s share.
Should one driver sweep the program, they will receive a $2,000 bonus. That driver will leave the Center Lisle, N.Y., three-eighths-mile clay oval with no less than $10,000 cash!
“This ‘Double Down’ program should elevate the excitement for our fans and competitors,” event co-promoter Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media LLC, also the Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek coordinator, said. “With a number of SpeedSTR regulars also having a Modified in their arsenal, I expect several regionally known, star drivers to pull double-duty and race for the 10 grand!”
