New Egypt Speedway’s Sportsman All Star Cup Event to Carry ROC Engine Rules
Race Re-named In Honor of John Cornell, Jr.
New Egypt, NJ– The New Egypt Speedway All Star Cup Weekend will kick off on Friday, September 18th, with the Sportsman, Racesaver® Sprints, and the Black Flagged Racing Street Stock Spectacular in the first annual Prelude to the Cup event. To open it up to as many cars as possible, the Speedway will be using the ROC Sportsman engine rules for the event.
“This event is our season ending event that we want as many cars to participate in as possible because of the increased purses we are offering,” said General Manager Allyse Wolfinger. “It made sense to open up the rules to invite cars from the tri state area to participate.”
In addition to opening up the rules, the race will now be named in honor of Sportsman driver Johnny Cornell’s father who passed away earlier this season while watching his son compete at Bridgeport Speedway. The race moving forward will be called the “Big Rooster 20” in honor of John Cornell, Jr.
Sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available including laps sponsorship for $10 per lap, heat race winning bonus of $30 per heat, and more. To get involved in the event, call the Speedway at 609-758-1900 or email nesoffice@comcast.net.
