New Egypt Speedway Set For Second All Star Cup Saturday, September 20th

Godown, Howard, Olsommer, Hagganbottom Lead the Way

 

New Egypt, NJ–         New Egypt Speedway is gearing up for its biggest race of the 2014 season as the second annual All Star Cup Shootout is approaching quickly. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 20th, and will feature a $10,000 to win, 40-lap shootout for the 358 Modifieds and has added the Crate Modifieds and NERS Racesaver® Sprints to the card.

The All Star Cup incorporates a season long point standings with the race on September 20th, determining the 2014 All Star Cup champions. As the last week of points approaches culminating on Sunday, August 31st, New Egypt’s Ryan Godown and Grandview’s Duane Howard lead the way with a perfect hand entering the final point paying event for the 358 Modifieds on Saturday, September 20th. Following closely and looking to secure a perfect hand as well are Grandview’s Doug Manmiller, Bridgeport’s Jimmy Horton, and Big Diamond’s Billy Pauch Jr.

Added to the All Star Cup schedule and point standings this year were the Crate Modifieds and NERS Racesaver® Sprints. The Crate Modifieds will be competing in a 30-lap, $5,000 to win feature event and the NERS Racesaver® Sprints will be competing in a 25-lap, $3,005 to win feature event sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings.

Leading the way for the Crate Modified All Star Cup championship is Penn Can Speedway’s Ryan Olsommer and New Egypt’s Mike Butler. Giving close chase are New Egypt’s Chuck Steuer, Brian Papiez, and Bryan Kuhl. Leading the way for the NERS Racesaver® Sprint All Star Cup championship is current regular season point leader Mike Hagganbottom. Giving chase to Hagganbottom are CSRA’s Scott Goodrich and Jeremy Quick as well as New Egypt’s Bobby DeVault.

Driver’s who did not enter the pre-season points can still enter to race on Saturday, September 20th. Entry forms for all divisions are available at www.newegyptspeedway.net. There is a lower entry fee for any teams submitting their entries for the event prior to Saturday, September 13th.

New Egypt is also in the process of announcing some great fan events for the night of the All Star Cup including a driver Meet and Greet, silent auction, children’s activities, and lots of giveaways. In addition to some extra entertainment and giveaways for the fans, the Speedway is also collecting bonuses and lap money for all three divisions.
