Mother Nature Wins Second Straight at New Egypt Speedway

New Egypt, NJ – Mother Nature picked up her second straight victory over the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday April 8th. Heavy thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon soaked an already saturated racing surface making it virtually impossible to prepare a safe surface for competitors. New Egypt Speedway’s 20th Annual Opening Night will now be held on Saturday, April 15th. The 358 Modifieds, Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars, Hammer Sportsman, Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman will be in action that evening along with the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club. Oliver Communications Group will again be the presenting sponsor for the evening.
“We’ve had multiple car owners and drivers contact us over the last few days and they didn’t feel like the weather would be suitable for competition on Saturday. The track is just too wet, we don’t want to see any wrecked race cars”, said New Egypt Speedway’s Joey Liquori.
Pit Gates will open at 3PM, Grandstands gates swing open at 4PM with Hot Laps at 5PM and Racing at 6PM.
Admission to the grandstand is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for teens 12-15, $10 for military personal and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & Under are FREE. Pit admission is $30 with a New Egypt Speedway license and $40 with no license.
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 in New Egypt, NJ just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country.
