Georgetown Speedway Mid-Atlantic Championship Offers Something For Every Fan; STSS Modifieds, Super Late Models, Small-Block Mods, Mid-Atlantic Sprints & More October 27-28

GEORGETOWN, DE – The Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend at Georgetown Speedway is set and it offers something for the tastes of almost every race fan.

Two full days of racing at the historic oval on Friday-Saturday October 27-28 will bring down the curtain on a very successful season at the Sussex County facility.

The final event of the 2017 Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP Velocita-USA South Region takes place during Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend, with a $10,000 champion crowned.

The STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds race for 40 laps with $5,000 going to the winner and $400 to take the green flag.

Super Late Models return to the speedway during the weekend with a $5,000 top prize awaiting the winner and $400 to take the green flag.

The sole “small-block-only” event for Modifieds this season takes place on Friday of the two-day show with a 30-lap main offering $3,000 to the winner and $300 to take the green flag. This event is open to both open engines (max. 363) and PA/NJ spec engines. The spec combinations are permitted to utilize open fuel and carburetors.

For the first time ever, the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series will visit Georgetown on Saturday during the weekend.

Also on the docket over the two days are L&J Sheet Metal Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,000 to win), RUSH Crate Late Models ($1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks.

Registration is open for the STSS Modifieds, Super Late Models, small-block Modifieds, RUSH Crate Late Models and Crate 602 Sportsman. Forms have been posted on the Georgetown Speedway website.

The Quality Inn & Suites just north of the speedway on Route 113 in Georgetown has set aside a block of rooms for Friday and Saturday nights at a discounted rate of $108. To reserve a room, call 302.854.9400 and mention you are attending Georgetown Speedway.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
